So, currently broadcast (and just caught up with) Friday 2nd August. Recap:

Lauren - given birth to baby boy at 24 weeks after Joel hid labour inducing drugs in her soup
Jack - been charged with arson with intent to endanger life (Hope seemed pleased!)
Paul - going to donate his corneas to MND research, much to Bernie's dismay
Beth - lost box of fake t-shirts and told Carla where to stuff her job

Yes I wondered that? He seemed to sober up suddenly?

We thought it seemed to be being implied that he was planning suicide at the end? Think there was some relevance to that gash on his face too.

Dee Dee looked a bit odd in Roy's rolls at the end too?

They are rather extraordinary for lying down in a bed.

Couldn't take my eyes off Bethany's boobs!!

When Bethany was gasping for air, it was like watching Mount Vesuvius x 2.

Yes he was faking the drunken apologies. A psycho like Joel would never kill himself, or even be sorry. They will think he's dead and gone and he will lurk around and start messing with their minds again. What with that and Bethany I'm going to be doing a LOT of fast forwarding.

@Shellingbynight - love the term ‘fast forwarding.’ Reminds me of my childhood.

My DH still refers to recording something on TV as "put it on tape" He would be overjoyed if VHS made a return!

I still have one of those old fashioned Humax boxes from years gone by so I can record and fast forward, very useful with Corrie 😆

Yes Joel was pretending to be drunk and emotional, and possibly suicidal so they won't expect it when he strikes. He really is a cold fish. I don't understand why everyone is worrying about Bethany's medical bills, if the cosmetic surgery place perforated her bowel by accident wouldn't they be paying her bills, to shut her up if nothing else? But maybe I missed something, my attention does wander a bit sometimes when I watch.

She was only in Turkey for 5 minutes - supposedly on a professional basis - before she went for lipo. No wonder she can't carve out a career for herself in journalism!

Reminded me of when my childhood goldfish, Flossie, jumped out of her bowl!

It's deceitful of David/Daniel to conceal it was due to lipo, Jenny said she thought she had something like a ruptured appendix - and then okay you would be sympathetic, but you would also wonder why the insurance was not paying out.

Anyway, nice to see Jenny on one of her rare appearances.

I think DeeDee suspects Joel might top himself and sort of hopes he does, hence not voicing this thought, which as she is basically a nice person and a Christian person, she isn't comfortable with.

I think PP are spot on though, he has no such intentions, he is setting a very complex scene and he is going to grab someone, probably Lauren, possibly DeeDee... and finish them off, then do a runner.

Joel will disappear, then turn up, cackling evilly like Jack Nicholson in The Shining...."Here's Joely!!"

I wondered if I was watching a Slasher movie last night, what with Joel on the loose and people going out into the dark to investigate noises, and not locking their doors at night.

I actually laughed out loud at that scene!

It's a difficult one as they are Lucy's actual breasts I assume and it won't be nice to read people think she looked ridiculous. Hopefully she won't care if she does see those comments.
