Anyone else watching? It’s all kicking off at 6:30pm, apparently with the athletes parade first.

London 2012 OC was remarkable, I’m hoping the French can match that magic!

Some of these boats do not look seaworthy. I wonder if any of the athletes will feel ill after this?

The people who own the boats have cleaned up haven't they! They are on the bolly

Got to assume at some point they were going to order 160 new boats but then they realised it would cost 3 billion

I'm generally a fan of going for a less expensive Olympics but I think Rio did it better

I think the Canadians are tilting their boat!

Looks like a parade in a dreary provincial UK town. You know, the ones where people chuck sweets off the floats to keep the kids interested. And there is some minor local 'celebrity' with a loud hailer.

Many years ago I rang my Mum from the Bateau Mouche... Instead of "Hello I'm on the train" she got "Hello I'm on the Seine!!" 🤣 🤣 🤣

Not sure. The music director said this morning in an interview (Today R4) that they hadn't rehearsed really, just bits and pieces. But not the whole thing ....

So much beautiful French music to choose from. I hope we get to hear it.

The procession was at the end of London 2012. The 'show' was the first couple of hours. And it was amazing. Nothing like this random state of affairs.
