Anyone else watching? It’s all kicking off at 6:30pm, apparently with the athletes parade first.

Athletes train in all weathers, through illness, all hours etc. Rain won’t kill them. So many h&s czars on this thread!

I love an Olympics opening ceremony, but this? I don't know what it is, but it's not an opening ceremony.

If I were a competing athlete, especially a non track-and-field athlete, I think I would feel very cheated that I didn't get to walk around the stadium with all the other athletes in all the tremendous atmosphere.

I think there is a good reason why this is only the 2nd(?) ceremony not to take place inside the Olympic Stadium.
