Anyone else watching? It’s all kicking off at 6:30pm, apparently with the athletes parade first.

London 2012 OC was remarkable, I’m hoping the French can match that magic!

I watched London 2012 opening ceremony this afternoon. Not intentionally, but someone had post the Mr Bean section on FB and I was drawn in.
The French are crap at opening ceremonies!
Its style over content, the cancan girls were abysmal, the rest is poorly choreographed. The best bits are the parkour flame carriers which are pre recorded. It’s not even tongue in cheek which most of the London ceremony was, if it all went tits up at least we were already laughing at ourselves.
Im now at the half submerged cardboard heads ???

It's a great anthem - but why is she half in her underwear?

When you think back to Beijing, London etc, this is really really poor.

I was lucky to be in the audience at the full dress rehearsal for the 2012 opening ceremony. It was held on the Monday before the event. The only thing that was left out was the athletes parade. One thing that didn't come across so much when I watched it on the telly was just how loud it was being there in person. It really was like being at a concert. It was incredible.

This all looks like it should have been amazing

Who are these female icons? A bit underwhelming.
