Anyone else watching? It’s all kicking off at 6:30pm, apparently with the athletes parade first.

London 2012 OC was remarkable, I’m hoping the French can match that magic!

My DS represented GB as a schoolboy-he was Captain and held the flag in opening ceremony. Which was very short and not in the rain and his coach was still stressing about the amount of time he was standing there-needed to save his legs.

I can not think that this is good for the athletes at all.
Some of them compete tomorrow.
They should not be standing on a boat, going very slowly, in the rain.

Shocking preparation. And so bloody boring so not worth it at all.

I’ve just switched on - is it just boats along the river? why am I watching the minions.

It's very disappointing. In a stadium you can have an event, but all the cuts to video, what do you really get on the street as a viewer? Even if the weather were ok, it would still be a fail.
