The wrestling captain was a charming throwback to the days of truly wooden acting on GoT.

The wrestling thing was absolutely bizarre and pointless
And that big grinning Daario Naharis lookalike - like what were they trying to do?

The actor playing the captain is a trans YouTuber (which could explain the lack of acting chops) but I genuinely didn’t know if the character was meant to be a man or woman pretending to be a man, as the other characters all said “he”.

What a disappointing finale. Just a bunch of random scenes stitched together. Once again, the writers forgot we are all more interested in the dragons.

What the hell did they do to Alicent? No way would she agree to Aegon's death. I don't remember this from the book.

And complete unconvincing turnaround for Daemon as well, even with his boring visions.
That mud wrestling scene was just completely bizarre.
Completely inconcievable that Ulf would behave that way
I did like the Larys Aegon scene, but I agree that very few characters bounce off each other.

But there is one dragon in the book which plays an important role, but the show appears to have taken a different turn. Or it may work out in S 3. Can't say which as spoiler!

We now have to wait two years for S3, right?

I haven’t heard that they’ve started filming season 3 yet so yes, I think it’ll be a 2 year wait. And there will only be 4 series in total.

But there is a new GoT universe show coming out next year - A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms.

Did anyone get why Otto Hightower appears to be imprisoned?

Not that it will matter in a couple of years, but I’d been worrying about him since Alicent said he wasn’t answering her messsges. Which brother sacked him - I forget? Presumably they also imprisoned him? Unless it was someone thinking Alicent would pay any price to recover him?

Larys? 💡Just to secure his own, now shattered, position?

Aegon sacked him, Aemond asked Larys to recall him.

Larys is a bit dull - he tries to be a combination of Varys and Littlefinger but is a pale comparison. But at least we were spared his masturbating and foot fetish this season!

Larys is rank. I find it a bit implausible that he’s cracked out his foot fetish at Alicent. She is the queen and a route to influence. There are thousands of whores in kl he could have had watch him wank with their feet out.

But they wouldn’t have been the queen …

So it was Larys who imprisoned Otto?

I saw a post which showed Aemonds screen time each episode and it was only about 3 mins each week. I would have loved to have seen a little more of him, I think we got him burning his brother and taking control in the council meeting but other than that it was just him briefly on his dragon. He and Daemon are the most interesting so it's a shame they were both under used...and didn't square up.

Looking forward to next season, hopefully the writers will take some criticism on board as I've seen a lot of the same thoughts from different reviews. I would be happy if they wrapped it up in S3 rather than spreading the story too thin over too many seasons.

I don’t think they should spread it thin but a lot still has to happen. Several huge battles and significant events. There’s definitely enough for two series still.

That’s funny as I would’ve sworn he got more screen time than that. Guess it goes to show how good an actor Ewan Mitchell is!

Came on here to see what others thought of season 2 as I was really dissapointed with that ending. And to wait 2 years for the action to get going? Hated Daemons boring dreams arc. It went on far too long. Agreed with 'what on Earth what the wrestling thing about?' I think it was maybe a Jamie and Brienne from GOT throwback type of thing? Well, whatever it was, it was weird. Ulf acting a moron was also really unbelievable and poorly done. As if he would behave that way in front of the queen? Only thing I liked about this whole season was Aemond, really.

Why does it take them so long to film each season? Tbh I’d be happy with slightly lower production values and less CGI, and more episodes.

I think Jaime had prophetic dreams in a weirwood bed. His story was butchered in the show, so not sure if it was included.

I wish they would do a spin-off with Arya Stark's adventures in "what's west of Westeros". A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms doesn't sound very interesting. Though ofc I will still watch!

The Knight of the Seven Kingdoms is my favourite Song of Ice and Fire story. I do not care if GRRM never finishes the Game of Thrones books, just focus on the Dunk and Egg stories hurry to Winterfell and finally get to Summerhall😆
The casting looks good, too. My favourite Targaryen (Baelor Breakspear) will be played by Bertie Carvel apparently.
