I enjoyed:
The Expanse
The Man in the High Castle

Only Amazon or i-Player, NOT Netflix or Sky or any other service.

Any suggestions?

House
The Blacklist

Yetmorebeanstocount · 30/04/2024 21:18

oh yes House was great - I watched most of it but not every episode.
I will look into The Blacklist.

Spiral

Seconded. Absolutely brilliant.

QuickDraining · 30/04/2024 21:21

Dopesick, on Disney and now on the BBC. (What constitutes long?) I'm still bereft after finishing Better Call Saul (Netflix).

Panarycatty · 30/04/2024 21:24

Blacklist is brilliant.

pyewatchet · 30/04/2024 21:25

Did you watch The Wire when it came out?

goingdownfighting · 30/04/2024 21:26

Medici.
Game of thrones- bit gory

Yetmorebeanstocount · 30/04/2024 21:27

Unfortunately Dopesick only has 8 episodes. I was hoping for 24 or more.

I don't fancy police or crime stuff.
I like sci-fi, or otherwise any normal/realistic setting with strong portrayal of relationships. I like historical or modern settings.

Dark, as per my username, German SciFi series. Cerebral.

Second The Wire.

Spiral

I loved Spiral!

Yetmorebeanstocount · 30/04/2024 21:30

Dark looks great but is is on Netflix.

I liked The West Wing (showing my age).

OP posts:
Yetmorebeanstocount · 30/04/2024 21:33

I haven't seen the Wire - that is a definite possibility.

OP posts:
EineReiseDurchDieZeit · 30/04/2024 21:34

I love the West Wing as well

Sorry to have been the idiot who didnt read the OP. It's very annoying when people do that!

There's quite a few recommendations I'd make but all Netflix sadly.

potatoschpotato · 30/04/2024 21:34

Manifest? Its a bit ridiculous in places but I watched all 4 seasons in a couple of weeks, it reeled me in

LoreleiG · 30/04/2024 21:34

I liked Baptiste, Line of Duty, Luther.

Yetmorebeanstocount · 30/04/2024 21:37

Medici on Amazon brings up a 12 part documentary? Is that what you meant?

I have just found The Borgias, which looks fun.

Going on your comment about relationships - this is us. I am on series 5 and it is really good

Yetmorebeanstocount · 30/04/2024 21:39

Manifest is now on my list. Thanks

I second This Is Us on Amazon Prime.

In wrings you out emotionally though

BobnLen · 30/04/2024 21:46

Outer Range was good, just series one at the moment but there is a trailer for series two so it should be soon, it's a western sci-fi. type series

desperatedaysareover · 30/04/2024 21:48

I hate police procedurals but there has never been a better series than The Wire. I also don’t like sci-fi but Raised by Wolves is worth a watch.

Yetmorebeanstocount · 30/04/2024 21:49

This is Us looks great - a change from sci-fi or thriller/action stuff

I tried Outer Range but found it just too slow-paced and ponderous after a while - there were too many questions and no answers. I also didn't like the character of the patriarch - too moody.

StoatofDisarray · 30/04/2024 21:51

Better Caul Saul.

Herculesthescot · 30/04/2024 21:52

Fargo - 5 series on Prime
