On for 6w on Sunday at 9pm

This thread is tv paced !!!!

This brand-new six-part thriller, starring Jing Lusi and Richard Armitage, promises nerve-wracking plot twists, heart-stopping performances, and a compelling narrative that spans continents. Set to premiere on ITV1 and ITVX on the 21st of April, here's why Red Eye should be at the top of your must-watch list...

Red Eye kicks off with an adrenaline-fuelled opening that sets the tone for the rest of the series. Dr. Matthew Nolan (Richard Armitage), after a near-death experience in Beijing, finds himself entangled in a web of accusations upon his return to London.

Arrested for a murder he insists he didn't commit, Nolan's life spirals into chaos.

The plot thickens when DC Hana Li (Jing Lusi), tasked with escorting Nolan back to China, discovers a murder on their flight, unraveling a series of events that suggest a deeper, more sinister plot at play.

One of Red Eye's most compelling features is its unpredictability. With a storyline that introduces twist after twist, viewers are kept on the edge of their seats, guessing what could possibly happen next.

Each episode peels back layers of intrigue, revealing geopolitical tensions and sinister forces that suggest no one can be trusted.

The series boasts an array of famous faces, delivering strong performances that bring depth and complexity to their roles.

Jing Lusi's portrayal of DC Hana Li is both compelling and nuanced, presenting a character whose determination and grit are matched only by the mysteries she faces.

Richard Armitage's Dr. Matthew Nolan is equally captivating, offering a glimpse into the psyche of a man fighting to clear his name while navigating a labyrinth of lies and deception.

Red Eye is both pacy and frenetic, mirroring the urgency and danger that the characters face, and this rapid tempo ensures that there's never a dull moment, with each episode drawing the viewer deeper into the unfolding conspiracy.

Helping to further bolster the series are its high production values and striking visuals – the international setting of the series, spanning from the bustling streets of Beijing to the imposing presence of London's Heathrow Airport, provides a rich backdrop for the narrative.

This looks really good. It also has Lesley Sharp in it who is one of my favourite actors after getting into Scott and Bailey many years too late. Probably won't watch on Sunday night but definitely looking forward to this series.

Blondeshavemorefun · 20/04/2024 10:13

Love Lesley sharp

RA in his pants..... Happy Days!

daffodilandtulip · 21/04/2024 21:32

This is actually quite scary! You'd like to think it couldn't happen but ...

JewelleryCat · 21/04/2024 21:32

Apparently there is such a thing as “no man’s land” in an airport, the transit zone that until you’re through customs then you’re not officially in that country yet

Pepsiisbetterthancoke · 21/04/2024 21:43

Definitely got a feel of Hijack about it (the Idris Elba show that was on Apple TV a few months ago)

daffodilandtulip · 21/04/2024 21:46

I hadn't read about this, so I thought he was going to turn out to be a spy.

Is the plane about the blow up?

Auntieobem · 21/04/2024 21:56

Security isn't really as secure as you'd expect!

salsamad · 21/04/2024 21:57

Enjoying it so far.
However i prefer drama to be realistic and I'm finding this plot line a little farfetched.
According to the Immigration Advice Service (21 Jan 2024)
if you are a British citizen, you cannot be deported. You must first be stripped of your British nationality.
In addition the UK does not have an extradition treaty with China.

daffodilandtulip · 21/04/2024 22:02

I think they tried to overcome those facts at the start with the little Lesley Sharp MI5 bit - making out they are about to sign something but wouldn't if she didn't agree.

FlyingFlamingo · 21/04/2024 22:03

I agree…totally unbelievable. Why aren’t they diverting the plane? Surely when there’s a dead body on board airlines don’t just carry on their merry way?
No lawyer either?

daffodilandtulip · 21/04/2024 22:04

Completely missing the point but I never realised those were lifts at the back. I always wondered how they stored so much in those little cupboards 🤦🏼‍♀️😂

JewelleryCat · 21/04/2024 22:05

As above, I found some bits farfetched too like with him escaping the police, he wouldn’t do that with a fresh wound and it took them such a long time to figure out the passenger ate the vegan meal meant for Matthew then he died from the heart attack
