The new trailer ( gives a fresh look at the show's returning characters, including new PSNI recruits Grace (Siân Brooke), Annie (Katherine Devlin) and Tommy (Nathan Braniff), alongside Stevie (Martin McCann), Helen (Joanne Crawford) and Sandra (Andi Osho).

Fans also get a glimpse of new characters for season two, including new Constable Shane (Frank Blake) and siblings Lee (Seamus O'Hara) and Mags (Seána Kerslake).

The new episodes will follow Grace, Annie and Tommy a year after the events of the last season, with the officers faced with a gangland feud that culminates in a "violent and devastating confrontation".
"Tensions are high," Helen says in the trailer. "We're policing an area that could explode at a
ny minute, and we're flying completely blind."

That seemed a hell of a long delay as Tommy got beaten up and people were filming rather than calling for help. He was such a lamb to the slaughter.

I guess they didn't want to get involved because of who was doing the beating up?

Also had they guessed that Tommy was police?

I guess that's the risk of living/going out where you work?

(Not that that excuses any of it of course)

Lovemycat2023 · 07/05/2024 09:52

I did think the jumper looked a bit warm for a club too!

no sign of anyone calling for an ambulance after he was beaten up either. Nasty

Even more of a risk in Belfast I guess given they have to check their cars every day before shift. It’s clearly a dangerous place to be a copper.

martinisforeveryone · 07/05/2024 09:59

Yes, Tommy stood out like a sore thumb amongst other club goers. Something that Canning would be very well aware of and if he wasn’t aware of the danger he was putting Tommy in, and Tommy alone, he shouldn’t be in the job.

And apart from that wasn't the guy who beat him up the one that Canning introduced him to?

I suppose Canning couldn't have known that he would be there & had Tommy not been dressed so conspicuously the one who beat him up might not even have noticed him.

Surely it was up to Canning to say that Tommy was too conspicuous?

Why didn't Canning or Shane go in?

SevenSeasOfRhye · 07/05/2024 21:56

(only just watched) I was expecting him to change his clothes before he went undercover in the club. Surely no one goes clubbing in a thick beige jumper?

I didn't understand why the Inspector sprang into action on being told that Murray, Shane and Tommy had just left together in an unmarked car. How did she know they were still on duty? Couldn't they just have been going for a drink, or does 'unmarked' mean it's a police car in plain clothes, as it were?

Poor Tommy, I hope he's going to be OK.

I guess because she'd been asked to authorise their overtime, she knew what was going on.

WhatICallMyUsername · 07/05/2024 22:21

He wouldn't tell her what the overtime was for though although I guess Tommy might have told Aisling

Blondeshavemorefun · 08/05/2024 10:14

Tommy won't die

He's breathing

OP posts:
martinisforeveryone · 08/05/2024 10:37

Maybe this really toughens Tommy up and leads him into being instrumental in Shane’s downfall?

Maybe Tommy and Annie bond over their experiences with Shane, both personally and professionally, am thinking of the stop and search incident on the estate.

LadyEloise1 · 08/05/2024 14:40

Tommy was like a lamb to the slaughter.

I get mixed up between Jonty and Canning.
Canning is a bad'un and Shane wants to emulate him 🙄🙄🙄

Lee is so threatening looking.

His sister in the show is one of the daughters in Smother @Blondeshavemorefun
That wee boy, her son is going to be seriously injured or die despite she wanting out of the pub and the area. He's in a lot of scenes.

SevenSeasOfRhye · 08/05/2024 17:58

We thought Tommy looked dead!

Blondeshavemorefun · 08/05/2024 18:20

Well I'm hoping he isn't

Can't cope with 2 deaths

I'm still mourning Gerry

SevenSeasOfRhye · 08/05/2024 19:39

Hoping this too. I was applying the tv rule that blood-out-of-corners-of-mouth = goner, but with luck I will be mistaken.

Blondeshavemorefun · 13/05/2024 20:13

E5 tonight

And yah Tommy is alive

Musermum · 13/05/2024 21:15

I really can't stand Grace

Blondeshavemorefun · 13/05/2024 21:18

Grace is ok

I'm wondering if canning is dodgy

We said they the other week

Does he work with /for lee

OP posts:
Musermum · 13/05/2024 21:29

Think he might be... But not sure he's working with Lee. Don't know who though.

Musermum · 13/05/2024 21:59

Oh my goodness!

Blondeshavemorefun · 13/05/2024 22:08

Sometimes lee seems a decent bloke. Wanting things back to normal /how they used to be

Giving money - wiping Stacey's debt

I get why Grace hesitated on the mace spray. I prob would have done the same

Bloody Charlie - I mean robin - I get can't used to his accent

And a kick in the balls. It's all go today !!!good girl !!!!

Poor jen. Sure she feel bad about Jerry's death without mum mentioning it

Didn't need to see Jerry get shot again but sounds like it's all interlinked even. A year later

Well done shane ! He had to report canning and that meant Annie's punch equalled it out

And sounds like jonty the bearded inspector bloke knows canning may not be right and getting Tommy to check up on him giving him access with his password and account !!!!

Guns and shooting / Not again. Will they survive /be ok

Sure they will - they can't die

I couldn't believe it when Tommy came back to work in the bloodstained sweater. Doesn't he own any other clothes?
