The new trailer ( gives a fresh look at the show's returning characters, including new PSNI recruits Grace (Siân Brooke), Annie (Katherine Devlin) and Tommy (Nathan Braniff), alongside Stevie (Martin McCann), Helen (Joanne Crawford) and Sandra (Andi Osho).

Fans also get a glimpse of new characters for season two, including new Constable Shane (Frank Blake) and siblings Lee (Seamus O'Hara) and Mags (Seána Kerslake).

The new episodes will follow Grace, Annie and Tommy a year after the events of the last season, with the officers faced with a gangland feud that culminates in a "violent and devastating confrontation".
"Tensions are high," Helen says in the trailer. "We're policing an area that could explode at a
ny minute, and we're flying completely blind."

And the guy answering the door to Jen was Charlie from Casualty!!

Yes, I said the same! It's quite distracting at times as their eyes look pretty unnatural. White shirts etc are all blue tinged too. I thought it was the tv settings at first! It's a bit bizarre.

I'm going to suffer here, I don't know anything other than the most basic info about NI politics and am already confused by the opposing gangs. I liked S1 though so will stick with this in the hope everything becomes clearer.

The two gangs are both Loyalist drug dealers, so they're on the same side in terms of politics, but they're in a war over territory. One side is led by Dixon (shaved head) and the other by Hamill (slicked back dark hair).

It’s no wonder I’m confused. Firstly I mistakenly thought Lee was part of a married couple at the pub, so now know better, but I don’t know how he got Dixie’s keys.

I mistakenly thought at the end he was indicating they’d sold the pub to Hamill, based on his Mags saying earlier that she wanted to move for her son’s safety.

I swear I’ve started reimagining these dramas to my own plots.

When and how did he get the keys? Or does it even matter? Is he going to get involved now in Dixon’s gang seeing as there’s a ‘vacancy’?

I also noticed the blue eyes, particularly Jen’s. Although I totally missed the actor from Casualty, probably because I’ve never watched it.

Thanks for the recaps. I did note the first one keeps calling Jen by the actor’s name of Hannah though and that doesn’t help my bird brain.

Still dreadfully upset about Gerry, don’t think it was fair on us viewers 😕😓

The keys were left in the taxi cab in ep.1 that the pub guy was driving.

Apparently there is a court case in Newry today that relates to an unauthorised/illegal parade/ march in Derry by dissident Republicans.
In Blue Lights it was an unauthorised/illegal parade by Loyalists.

But why didn't ungrateful man of dire want it but younger man did

And seems Dixie is the big I am man

And Lee was meant to ask his permission

But now lee is big I am man and Dixie is dead

I didn't recognise the Jonty character from last series so thought he was new to this one. I didn't recognise him as the one who had the affair with Jen last time around.

Only just caught up with Monday's episode - great episode, the tension is really mounting now. Wondering what (because something must!) is going to go hideously wrong between Annie and Shane. Very interesting about the marching being illegal. I thought it was going to go pear shaped when they were allowed to march back to The Loyalist!

I only recognised him from his name, 'Jonty' being distinctive - has he changed his appearance? - I probably need to recap-watch some of S1. Husband didn't recognise him until I described him as the 'double O B' bloke!

DH was moaning about the blue eyes being distracting - I hadn't noticed it till he said, then I found it distracting as well😁

Am I the only one who watched tonight ?

I watched it earlier this evening. I’m afraid that as usual I am totally confused as to who is who and what side anyone is on either plot wise or politically! I found the first season easier to follow

I’m sure someone said it was his actual accent though? He is from Belfast!

Confused with Tommy the copper and lee the druggie as look similar

Plus shane the newbie what's he up to

Dixon is dead but don't know who killed him

And seems he didn't protect people tho asked £500 a week protection money
