Couldn't see a new thread.

I have no idea who they are apart from the fella from League of Gentleman.

What do the others do?

I've about a dozen. But I don't remember anything about the hidden message last night, so it's not helping!!

SoupDragon · 03/05/2024 20:22

I don't remember anything either 😂

Leafbuds · 03/05/2024 22:31

took me a while, and there is still one that I don't totally understand why it's the answer even though I knew it had to be. {ETA: just worked it out!] I had to look up a couple of words, too, to get some ideas.

And then only afterwards did I work out how/where the hidden message was and could read it. There are extra letters around it though, which I didn't expect.

Also I don't know how anyone would know there was a hidden message without being told!

But impressive, nonetheless. I'd never heard of Steve before, but I like him. I enjoyed the last week or two a lot and laughed more than I have for a while

8th May - the new and sadly the last 9th series of Inside no 9 (for those loving Steve but if you are new to him, there's 8 previous series on iplayer).
Also there'll be an Inside no 9 stage show at the West End.

It starts next week? Crikey that's come round quickly. I made a note in my diary a while ago.

A West End show of Inside No 9 would be amazing. I had front row seats when Steve, Reece and Mark toured League of Gentlemen many moons ago. All utterly brilliant people.

That's got me wondering if they will ever get Reece Shearsmith or Mark Gatiss on TM.

Typo

@RosalindsAFuckingNightmare IMO the format is getting stale. Or something. I remember commenting on it here at home when we were watching the series with Victoria CM actually, because I thought I noticed something off then, and thought it was the editing. Like it wasn’t edited the same and just wasn’t as funny. I think they’ve been playing around with that a bit too much and then also in the studio - they’re editing out too much banter and they never cut back to the studio during tasks so you see the reactions. One of the keys to the success is that you really feel like you get to know the contestants and this part is becoming weaker. Hasn’t stopped me from watching yet though!

MustyGorilla · 07/05/2024 12:31

The cryptic crossword one reminded me of Richard Osman's one with the £20 where he gambled it into hundreds ... and then gave it to charity. The whole long-game scenario.

Twonewcats · 17/05/2024 09:32

Did nobody watch last night?

Leafbuds · 17/05/2024 09:35

I did, still enjoying it!

RainbowZebraWarrior · 17/05/2024 10:05

I always watch the morning after.

I'm still loving it. Alex' face and Nick's wink. I feel it was a really good episode, partly because everyone made a complete fuck up at some point. Even Steve Pemberton can't be brilliant all the time.

Surely the 'Wolf' was an Alsatian though?

SoupDragon · 17/05/2024 10:25

I laughed lots this week. Especially at Nick and Steve completely fucking up the watermelon task. Also the flip flop flap task. Excellent work!

I think this was a good week all round, although the live task made my brain hurt.

Umanresources · 17/05/2024 10:37

We really enjoyed last night's episode. It had some laugh out loud moments. I'd noticed Alex's face at the gaffer tape moment and rewound it at the time. The bit where John had the task in his back pocket was like the Tim Vine moment with the hook stuck on his shoulder. We were howling. Nick and Steve unintentinaly breaking every rule was hilarious and yes indeed Nick's wink was so funny. The fact that he thought the table flip was the winner and he was even discussing it with John during show was great. I enjoyed this episode so much although we are still huffing at John winning the episode again! It does feel like teacher's pet winning.

Twonewcats · 17/05/2024 10:54

The watermelon task was fabulous. Lots to remember, pointless microphone speaking, and secret tasks hidden amongst it. Perfect.

I also found it fascinating that none of them though "oh, I was given a secret task, so the others might have too"

OiGetOff · 17/05/2024 10:58

I watched it this morning.

Loved Sophie’s mannequin, so funny. She woz robbed. But Steve’s still deserved the 5 points, straight out of League of Gentlemen - superb. Listened to a little bit of Sophie on the TM podcast too, sounds like she’s on her usual fabulous form.

Despite being a John Robins apologist generally, I’m rather bored by him in this.

Nick though, absolutely adorable. That wink!

LMMuffet · 19/05/2024 08:56

Watched it last night. It was one of my favourite episodes of the series so far. I adored Sophie Willan’s mannequin challenge - she was robbed!

FourLeggedBuckers · 19/05/2024 11:24

#JusticeForWolfie 😂

WTF1974 · 19/05/2024 22:10

Does anyone know where Sophie's blue jumpsuit is from please?

SoupDragon · 24/05/2024 13:07

I enjoyed last night's episode. Especially Steve completely misunderstanding the sock task 😂

RosalindsAFuckingNightmare · 24/05/2024 15:57

I thought the sock task was funny too and yes to Steve misunderstanding - leading to everyone else looking nervously around to see if they were the ones that got it wrong! Highlight for me was John's back of the head Freddy. Superb.

SoupDragon · 24/05/2024 16:23

I was disappointed he didn't sing a Queen song

murasaki · 24/05/2024 16:28

It was the call and response Freddie did at one of their biggest concerts, might have been Brazil?

CwmYoy · 24/05/2024 16:55

I fall more and more in love with Nick as each week passes.

yeah, but I wanted him to sing!

he's lovely... talented yet so naive (naive in the context of taskmaster). Such good grace with his failures too.

IPartridge · 24/05/2024 18:53

I don't think they let them sing (John and Sophie) as it costs them a lot of money (found that out from The Rest is Entertainment podcast!)

Nick's Assistant Day song was so sweet
