I love a lot of what Catherine wears-colourful & comfortable!

Just caught up with the thread after watching last week's episode.
I have to agree with everyone.

Very odd storyline / writing.
As everyone said, no chemistry at all between them.
Also the whole Florence being released / sees family for a day / goes off traveling was just so odd in so many ways.

You know, much as I love watching DiP, I have to agree it has run its course now.
Quit while they are still enjoyable.

I love Catherine (sorry to those who hate!) I know someone just like her in real life who is from a Francophone country and she really rings true to me. I would be really disappointed if she ever left.

The only member of the core cast I’ve ever found really tricky was Florence. I’ve just rewatched the initial episodes where they tried to build a connection between her and poor Neville and they just don’t work at all. Eg when they play her favourite French board game “Inspecteur” together. Neville in RL would need a completely different type of partner.

I used to like Catherine but not now.

I hate the way all the female characters interfere.

Would have loved Neville to man up a bit and tell them to butt out.

I think a PP is right and it's time for it to bow out. Let's face it, every story is the same formula and I just watch it for the nice scenery.

And the jolly music.

... and the guest appearances. My husband and I now do what I used to find intensely irritating when my parents did it decades ago and in the early minutes we spend a lot of time saying 'Ooh, that's whatsisname! Not that one, the one in the blue shirt. What was he in? Was it that thing with Nicola ... Nicola ... Walker! That's her name. He was the doctor ...' The difference being IMDB and Wikipedia resolve all those queries in short order.

I love it as well, and actually think the plots have improved. I remember one of Ardal’s series was very weak and I thought it was on the way out then.

Love Death in Paradise, Catherine is ok typical bossy mum.
Regarding her “dressed up”arm and wonder if it is to cover up a diabetic insulin monitor which is the modern (expensive) way of controlling blood sugar levels in type one diabetes.

Zonder what alerted my attention was a few episodes previously I noticed she had a large ?patch on her arm and have been curious ever since. She seems to wear arm “jewellery” all the time. Maybe I am daft.

I’d never noticed it was a thing until you mentioned it. Maybe she has a diabetes patch, that looks like a large plaster. Mind you, they’ve only come about in the last few years, so relatively recently.

Has she not bee wearing armlets for a while?

Thank you for pointing this out to me. My son is T1 diabetic and he, and anybody else I've ever seen wears their monitor high up on their arm.

Alright @RaraRachael ! My T1 husband moves his around his upper arm - not a million miles away from where the amulet goes.

Not absolutely sure about this. Mind you a couple of them have arrived and I wasn't sure about but warmed to their characters after a few episodes. Personally I think it should be a person from the island instead of the 'white man from UK'. Just my opinion of course.
