Welcome Faithfuls!

This thread is for Traitors UK S2. Posting at TV pace so if you are not fully up to date then beware of possible spoilers.

Hang up your cloak, and pull up a chair at thr Roubd Table.

Who would like to start?

Agree Evie is definitely Tracey's daughter. Idly googling Tracey's name I came across an Etsy review of a veterinarian Christmas ornament saying she'd bought it for her daughter. Might be a coincidence but...? 😁

But like PPs I don't see the point of it unless the relationship is used for some subterfuge.

Christmasnutcracker · 23/01/2024 12:02

Also this. Just to note - Andrew is the only contestant that I can remember having heard refer to things that happened in series 1 on camera. I have a feeling that he’s studied it closely, which is why he was so quick to realise that he’d been recruited as a scapegoat for the traitors.

I’ve watched all the Australian series, the UK series and The Mole because I enjoy it. . I am certain if they like The Traitors enough to apply for the show, they have all watched it over and over again.

MaggieFS · 23/01/2024 12:37

The producers obviously don't know at the beginning which way things will pan out, so they must have to plant a lot of seeds which might be used later on. I don't think a late reveal is unsatisfactory, it's just something which doesn't come to anything.

Similarly, the questions for the funeral mission could well have been chosen as they went along, depending on who was left. By that I mean we have no idea how long it took to film, so the crew could have had a few options at the ready.

BringOnFebBankHoliday · 23/01/2024 12:42

Thanks @CaveMum for heads up about the podcast! That's my lunch break sorted 😁

wubwubwub · 23/01/2024 12:55

What was the question they got wrong in the funeral episode?

wubwubwub · 23/01/2024 12:59

Oh, the "the player who is safe, is the player who Tracey would leave all her worldly goods to"

WoolyMammoth55 · 23/01/2024 13:00

wubwubwub · 23/01/2024 12:55

What was the question they got wrong in the funeral episode?

Something like: "Who would Tracey leave all her worldy goods to in her will?"

Evie looked flustered but Diane said "me, maybe?" (I guess they got on?) and then Evie agreed. It was the only one they got wrong!

And it was distinctively different from all the other factual ones - EXCEPT if FACTUALLY Tracey's will leaves everything to Evie IRL! - and she knows it!

MeinKraft · 23/01/2024 13:03

Claudia did say when it was revealed about Diane and Ross that there would be more revelations. But none of them materialised.

WhereAreWeNow · 23/01/2024 13:12

I've honestly not spotted any likeness between Evie and Tracey. But then that worldly goods question was odd.

MadeOfAllWork · 23/01/2024 13:30

I think they told us about Diana and Ross because the time was right.
If we knew about Evie and Tracey too then it would be too much. Also if they told us early then we’d all be asking who is Evie.

We took the official traitors card (not the board game) on holiday. I managed the spectacular feat of being a traitor and accidentally murdering myself, as I forgot who was what number 🙄

i’d Be shit at actually being a traitor on the TV version!

we were underwhelmed by the card game though.

😂

Ooh thanks for the werewolves tip @shreknjumps although we are a bit over it now having played it loads when the kids were late primary.

@CaveMum thanks also for the Rest is Entertainment flag, just listened on my lunch.

I don't think Evie and Tracey will be related. I just don't think they'd put two mothers and children in.

What would be interesting would be a series where one half of a couple is a traitor.

I don't imagine they'll do that. Any people who already know each other and have some sort of relationship will work out some kind of secret signal ahead of time to use if that happens.

martinisforeveryone · 23/01/2024 14:53

Because I was looking for likenesses, I spotted Tracey and Evie pretty much straight away, although, I do often find when I see similarities the rest of my family just go 'What?' Facially, I think they definitely look like family though.

Perhaps there were other plans but people thinking Evie and Charlotte and to a lesser extent Molly, are alike, meant nothing really took off? Personally I don't think they look alike at all except for all having long blonde hair.

Whatever the idea or the reality of it, the whole connected thing was screwed up by Tom last series as almost everyone said they couldn't be trusted at all after keeping their relationship a secret. I really felt for, was it Matt? who clearly fancied Alex and had no idea. I think he was very hurt when he found out.

I quite like that we know something the Traitors don't know, even though they think they know everything there is to know about the Faithful. Not that most f the contestants listen or pick up on clues very well. I so wanted Claudia's 'watch out for crocodile tears' to hit home and yet it appears it went unnoticed really.

BaconAndAvocado · 23/01/2024 15:27

The question is...wtaf are we going to do when Traitors is over? 😂

NonPlayerCharacter · 23/01/2024 15:30

Is there a thread for the Aussie S2? I can't handle another full series but I heard how it finished, watched the end and would like a discussion about it, if that's happening anywhere?

I will be bereft 😫

There are the non UK versions to watch (I've only watched the US one, so will seek out the Australian version next).

I did watch The Mole, but didn't enjoy it anywhere near as much.

Although not the same format, a similarly addictive show is Squid Game: The Challenge on Netflix. Even if you didn't watch Squid Game (the drama), it's a brilliantly realised format that resembles The Traitors in the social/psychological aspect of the game.

Turkeyhen · 23/01/2024 15:41

Thank you @NonPlayerCharacter 💐

MaggieFS · 23/01/2024 15:57

The Aussie one is also on iPlayer, I think.

Just a warning for anyone planning to listen to The Rest is Entertainment podcast. It's a good listen but it does contain spoilers for the US and Aussie versions. I hadn't expected that ☹️

wubwubwub · 23/01/2024 16:13

Australian and US versions are on iPlayer now

periodiclabel · 23/01/2024 16:14

Aus Season 2 isn't on iPlayer unless it's been updated
