I thought Ross was quite clever in the back of the car when he did Diane's accent but he made it sound like someone trying to do an accent, in that it was far from perfect if you're from Northern Ireland. There's no way he can't do a prefect imitation of his mum's accent, all kids can but he chose to do it badly.

I thought Diane was Scottish?

theconfidenceofwho · 21/01/2024 10:28

If Ross gets banished, is he able to say he's a recruited traitor, or just a traitor?

They are not allowed say.

I imagine the rules have been tightened since series one when the recruited traitor spoiled the gave by telling everyone to look at Wilf. That was against the rules so this year they seem to have tightened up.

I agree that's it's very easy to tell the three blonde women apart.

Funny that there are accusations of misogyny on here but lumping three very different women together cos they all have long blonde hair is ok....!

It isn’t anything to do with how they look. They is how they are being portrayed on the show. They rarely come to any conclusions. They jump on bandwagons. They don’t stick their necks out. They aren’t gung-ho in challenges. They are nondescript. Their names aren’t brought up because they aren’t a threat.

From watching other series it’s always these type of people who remain at the end. The ones who don’t come across as being smart and really easily o fluencies at the round table. They basically jump on the bandwagon of someone else’s theory.

It has nothing to do with how they look or that they are women FGS.

Stowickthevast · 21/01/2024 14:37

@DontBeAPrickDarren they generally don't have a murder on the last night so I think there are 2 banishments and a murder left. That will leave 5 finalists.

aSofaNearYou · 21/01/2024 14:38

Everyone seemed really against this but I thought it made brilliant telly! Needed to be made against the rules going forward for the game to work, though. I guess that's why the traitors have been so ruthless with one another this year - if I were Paul/Harry I'd have been very nervous that Ash/Miles/Paul were going to say something whilst being thrown under the bus.

I think when the faithfuls find out the truth the biggest surprise will be how much in fighting there's been amongst the traitors as I'd have assumed they were working together at least until near the end.

And that they were very rarely shown. We all wondered who Evie was as in the early shows she was almost never on screen. We all know Harry and Paul as they were in the limelight from the start.

Borris · 21/01/2024 14:59

I can’t wait for Wednesday. And I think Harry is a lot more clever than he comes across. I couldn’t work out why he was hiding the shield at first. But I hope Jas wins as he has consistently been the smartest player!

Twonewcats · 21/01/2024 15:37

One thing that annoys me about Harry is that he says Fatefuls.

I'm just catching up on the thread so apologies if it's been mentioned elsewhere

TheOriginalFrench · 21/01/2024 15:41

One thing that annoys me about Harry is that he says Fatefuls.

It doesn’t annoy me - but I do find it odd. He must surely have known what the two groups are called. If he didn’t, why did no one inform him?

burnoutbabe · 21/01/2024 15:45

Harry could say he told Ross and Andrew do only Evie and jasmine don't know so they must be the traitors. Ross and Andrew should back him up on that. (In theory)

theconfidenceofwho · 21/01/2024 16:43

Thanks @Christmasnutcracker

HueyDeweyandLouie · 21/01/2024 16:49

Others have noted the annoying BFF and "yourself" declarations. 😉

That love the bones of you made my teeth itch

Did the rules change between last year and this year, then? Did we get told that?

N4ish · 21/01/2024 18:05

Isn’t that just how the word faithful sounds in his Essex accent? That accent doesn’t tend to pronounce a strong h sound in a word.

Nah mate that would be faif-ful yeah.
Th becomes f.

dapsnotplimsolls · 21/01/2024 18:11

Maybe we need a bingo card - 'love you', 'love the bones of you', 'yourself/myself etc', '100%' ...

Girlontherailreplacementbusservice · 21/01/2024 18:14

Myself 100% loves the bones of yourself that is why myself would love myself to be wrong because I love yourself but I've voted for yourself. Myself is 100% certain yourself is a traitor but I 100% love you.

Diane is totally 100% Ulster Protestant.

Flipping heck @Dotellhimpike with talk of misogyny and racism already, don't bring religion into it!

(said in jest for the avoidance of doubt)

I'm 100% Ulster Protestant as well. I now live in the North East of England and for me it's just like saying whether someone's a Geordie or a Mackem.

This clip from that very accurate documentary series on Northern Ireland called Derry Girls explains it very well.

I wonder if a traitor will give themselves away by their 'unique' spelling/handwriting as we see them write recruitment letters or do production swap them out if they say Jass instead of Jaz, Charloads instead Charlot, I mean Charlotte?.
