I know fron the last series that many think this is a series that should have quietly been taken of air years ago.

But the telly addicts thread last time was so funny that it made it worth watching just to be able to join in the comments.

As our two lead characters have zero chemistry and barely speak, and they rarely do any actual pathology, one can only speculate what even more far fetched adventure they will get up to this series.

Not forgetting each more implausible fashion get up Nikki will be wearing to work each episode.

There's too much Cara. She shouldn't be wandering in and out like that!

I think Nikki and Jack will split up this series.

IwantToRetire · 26/01/2024 17:44

I think Harry should come back (is he still acting) then he and Nikki could have long discussions not only about personal feelings, but about the good old days when they were state funded and could do autopsy work properly!

(Well they bought Sam back, so why not?)

There will be even more of her if Gabriel takes her on!

How does everyone get in?

There was also the John Hannah character.

I thought you needed a code to get in!

SurvivingTheSeasons · 26/01/2024 19:41

What I don't understand is why they keep interrogating living people instead of sticking to the science.

AQuantityOfNaughtyCats · 27/01/2024 13:09

Also can’t stand Cara. So wooden and seemingly only there to be inclusive and to need rescuing.

Oh the bloody fighting!

Really disappointing as I had thought that this series was off to a fairly good start!

Loved Nikki's yellow Fair Isle jumper.

The glorious yellow jumper, by Eribe. Marginally cheaper on some other sites but not much...

friskybivalves · 27/01/2024 13:29

Actually, that is the hooded version. You need to google Eribe piccalilli fairisle, and up it comes.

I’d sign that petition!

Posypointshoes · 29/01/2024 10:01

Two minutes into the new episode on iplayer and I already want Jack to shut up. I think Nikki does too.

Posypointshoes · 29/01/2024 10:05

No spoilers but Christ this is boring.

LittleMonks11 · 29/01/2024 18:33

According to my chosen tv guide reviewer, the next set is a bit better and more like older episodes. Will be watching later when I reclaim the lounge. Have my cringe-o-meter at the ready.

tweedlledum · 29/01/2024 18:47

@Posypointshoes I've just paused after the first 3 mins and thought the same. What a load of rubbish and why wasn't that cut out? A very long time ago editing was a tough process where you really had to think about what to axe...apparently not any more.

LittleMonks11 · 29/01/2024 20:13

I would have dumped him by the time they reached the top of the stairs. She looked like she was about to.

tweedlledum · 29/01/2024 20:21

Is Velvy supposed to be special needs? I don't really know why he is there?
Slightly more gritty episode (even if I'm not sure insects would leave multiple blood trails that look like satellites) but I feel like men discussing a female's choice on having cosmetic surgery is a bit much when they all regularly enjoy getting themselves beaten senseless.

Posypointshoes · 29/01/2024 21:03

@LittleMonks11 😂 she really did look like she was over it.

i found both episodes to be really preachy. It was annoying. It takes itself so seriously now.

Mairzydotes · 29/01/2024 21:09

I've seen another police type drama where a burgler found a dead body in the house. Can't think which one it was.

tweedlledum · 29/01/2024 21:26

Yes it felt familiar. Something from the late 90's...? Prime Suspect?

I don't understand why they sat there obviously awkwardly eyeballing Kevin and each other, flapping as soon as he left the room, when most of the people that work with them talk in the exact same way.

Lastqueenofscotland2 · 29/01/2024 22:00

I actually like this one… there’s a bit more suspense to it

feelingalittlehorse · 29/01/2024 22:02

Is Velvy ok? He reminds me of that guy that was interviewed on BBC news by accident, when he was just popping in for a job interview.

feelingalittlehorse · 29/01/2024 22:03

You know, just kind of there by accident.

tweedlledum · 29/01/2024 22:19

He's not the full picture is he? I'm not sure now who is there for diversity and who isn't as they all seem to have quite odd characters and "quirks". Velvy reminds me of a teenage boy who is refusing to clean his room and likes to walk into a crowded space, pointedly huffing and staring as if his world is ending.
The story line was a bit better in some ways, a little more science. However the way they dealt with Kevin (was he supposed to have LD?) was pretty shocking and as if they've never met anyone with additional needs before.

Lavenderosa · 29/01/2024 22:24

I think the props department did a brilliant job on the corpse. I'm always thrilled to see what they've created and I'm in awe of their skill.

The Nikki & Jack relationship still doesn't work - the lack of any genuine spark makes me cringe.

Velvy is possibly the worst character they could have included. He's mixed-up, grieving, homeless, depressed and devoid of intelligence or wit. Bring back Clarissa!

I can't even remember the name of the senior man - that's how much impact he has on me. To be fair he has some dreadful lines but the actor's delivery is mainly monotone, often with emphasis in the wrong place and the whole time he speaks, I'm reminded that he's acting.

I've just watched episode 1 of Invisible and would usually go straight back to iPlayer to watch episode 2 but I'm not that enthusiastic. I want more science, more autopsy, more clever research (did I say bring back Clarissa!).
