What was interesting about the line up dismissal in season 1 was that those two guys came across as very macho. They originally went to the front and both looked really smug. When Claudia asked if everyone was happy with their position, one young contestant grabbed a much older lady and took her to the front saying that he thought she would be good. For unfathomable reason those two guys went to the back. When Claudia said OK go home then, everyone was totally shocked.

We don't know what was edited out. Also, one of those guys was Amos. I know opinion is divided on Kieran, but Amos was definitely never smug.

Discussing the series on The Rest is Entertainment podcast - loving Richard Osman’s game plan on how to be a traitor!

Riverlee · 09/01/2024 10:59

Was Amos the doctor? He seemed a genuinely nice guy and think would have done well in the show had he been in from the start. I think he was being humble going to the end, not smug.

Pleasbekind · 09/01/2024 16:11

spoiled, middle class problems 🤣 how wrong could you be about this boy!

Pleasbekind · 09/01/2024 16:15

I shouldn't laugh sorry, but I'm so telling him this is how he has come across, he will be more surprised than being called a sheep 🤣

someone asked previously if I could give out info on how it works bts, but he isn't allowed to tell me, which Is really annoying, I want to know too.

Fair enough, I take you at your word about him.

But from the POV of someone who doesn't know him - he's sat around the table with Jonnie with a prosthetic leg because he was blown up being a hero in Afghanistan, with Mollie who has one hand and a stoma bag, even with annoying welsh Andrew who has some crazy backstory of being left for dead 20 years ago with terrible brain injuries and building himself back up from the brink...

When literally the only thing that happened to Brian was being voted biggest Sheep - not biggest wanker, or most hated, or anything really harsh - and he seemed to completely lose his marbles over it - not just at the time, but also in his 1-2-1 interview, and then spectacularly at the round table - it does seem like he's making a mountain out of a very small molehill and should maybe try getting some real problems to give him a bit of perspective!

I'm just saying it as I see it, obviously 😅

martinisforeveryone · 09/01/2024 18:14

the only thing that happened to Brian was being voted biggest Sheep

Was he though?

I don't know how the beginning of the game was phrased so it may be biggest, but the question at the time was who was the biggest sheep Brian or Mollie? and if they hadn't chosen him, they'd have chosen Mollie, so it was quite bad to kick off at any of those questions for the person who hadn't been selected if you see what I mean.

WoolyMammoth55 · 09/01/2024 18:19

I don't think that's right.

At the start of the challenge they said something like "you all had to fill in questionnaires earlier about how you felt about the other contestants. We took everyone's answers and totalled them up. Now guess who everyone said was the biggest sheep - was it Brian or Mollie?"

So I think he WAS genuinely voted biggest sheep. But still - it was wild how much of a drama he made about it! All of the others shrugged it right off which is how I'd have expected a reasonable person to take it.

WoolyMammoth55 · 09/01/2024 18:22

...and when the round table started and he immediately bought it up, I was EXPECTING him to say something like:

"You all voted me biggest sheep and I'm kind of annoyed about it because actually I'm a very original thinker. So here's who I think the traitors are, and why! Sheep that, you guys!"

Instead he literally just said:
"You all voted me biggest sheep and that really hurts my feelings and I feel sad and angry and I'm not a sheep at all but I want to make it all about me and nothing useful for the group or even on topic about voting out traitors I'm not a sheep I'm not I'm not I'm not you are all very mean"

TWICE!

martinisforeveryone · 09/01/2024 19:46

Thanks @WoolyMammoth55 I did say I didn't hear how it was phrased at the beginning.

Agree with what you've said and also noted how Mollie simply said I can be a sheep. But no-one there actually knows the other contestants, a few days at most doesn't give you indepth insight. Brian really did lose his shit.

Pleasbekind · 09/01/2024 20:05

honestly, I've no idea why he went on this show. he wouldn't say anything bad about anyone and I've never heard anyone say anything bad about him, the sheep comment seem to really get to him! I think because he was having fun and didn't want to go home.

He is an individual who has his own business, through a creative drive more than a cut throat business mind. works on his own but gets on well with everyone x

TitsInAbsentia · 09/01/2024 20:42

Have we heard Andrew's back story yet (I really don't recall!) or did you look it up @WoolyMammoth55 ?

Incogg · 09/01/2024 22:08

(I’m not enjoying all the criticism of Brian, it’s unkind. It’d be more enjoyable if this thread could reflect Claudia’s approach).

Are you Brian? Or just his mum? 🤔

The lad went on Season 2 of a hugely popular reality TV show. If he can't take gentle ribbing then that was a poor decision on his part.

periodiclabel · 09/01/2024 22:28

I do t think it’s unkind, people are just bemused /amused at the massive overreaction

WoolyMammoth55 · 09/01/2024 22:32

...speaking of lovely Claudia, I did a slight eyebrow raise reading this article about her typical Sunday...

...right at the end, in italics where it would usually say "Claudia is currently presenting the second season of The Traitors on the BBC", it instead says...

SOMETHING PRETTY RANDOM!

That is totally random!

WoolyMammoth55 · 09/01/2024 22:35

I KNOW RIGHT!! I really laughed - seems almost like a dig on her part not to ask them to mention the show?? 😁

Riverlee · 10/01/2024 04:31

Regarding Brian, it’s more a discussion of what went on, rather than being unkind. It was a major part of the round table so it was bound to be discussed. For the record, I actually like Brian.

Twonewcats · 10/01/2024 06:22

I said before, I love Brian. His blurting and digging a hole is the kind of thing I'd have done.

dunodonny · 10/01/2024 06:43

I think Paul's hilarious but I don't think he will make it to the end he's too obviously a traitor. Harry might though
