Also, I'd say that the gameplan for any Traitor on the first night needs to include "what's a good reaction if someone asks me to my face if I'm a Traitor?"

Because we all know from S1 that eventually that happens and you have to do better than look shifty and guilty and repeatedly say "I'm sorry I can't hear you"!!

CaveMum · 11/01/2024 08:04

I think it’s probably easy to go in with a game plan, but whether you can sustain it and be adaptable when things go wrong is a whole other matter. People really do think they can implicitly trust their gut feelings, but reality shows us that’s not the case.

Yeah, the show makes a total mockery of "trust your gut". If that were true, they'd all just get rid of the traitors straight away on the power of gut feelings.

There's also a feeling that people are predictable and you can take a kind of Game of Thrones approach in knowing what they'll do. But that's not true either. I can see why Paul thought he'd be protected after being voted most popular and planting the seed of being scared that popular people were being killed off, but he wasn't. Did we actually hear why they chose Andrew?

It's hard because everything can be sincere, a bluff or a double bluff. Everyone has a reason for doing everything. It's nice to think you could get all logical and Agatha Christie about it, but you can't really.

WoolyMammoth55 · 11/01/2024 08:24

@NonPlayerCharacter Did we actually hear why they chose Andrew?

Yes - it was Paul's idea, he thought Andrew was strong and "a threat" and wanted to murder him that day.

Since they could only murder one of the dungeon four, that meant Andrew had to be one, and Mr Smug got the shock of his life that the group chose to save Andrew instead of him!

It's pretty lucky for Andrew because he's MUCH safer from murder after all this has gone down! Poor Meg though - wrong place at the wrong time...

Sorry, I meant: did we hear why the group chose to protect Andrew instead of Paul?

WoolyMammoth55 · 11/01/2024 08:29

Ooops sorry! No, I think they just said it went to a vote and the majority won?

I think people like him because he's the dad of the group. Also I think there were people like Jaz and Zach in that team who probably argued against Paul, right? But it wasn't shown.

NonPlayerCharacter · 11/01/2024 08:31

I like Andrew but I guess his card is marked and he'll be murdered at some point now; marking him as more popular than Paul makes him a threat.

BillStickersIsInnocent · 11/01/2024 08:36

I think there was some discussion that Paul would be safer at the round table, compared to Andrew. But that doesn’t really make much sense as they were saving someone from murder, not banishment.

LaBelleSauvage123 · 11/01/2024 08:37

Has Diane’s other son been on TV then? I know about Sam Swainsbury, but he’s her son-in-law.

Yes, Kerr Logan. He was in Game of Thrones and Strike.

LaBelleSauvage123 · 11/01/2024 08:39

She definitely has actorly connections!

CaveMum · 11/01/2024 08:40

@NonPlayerCharacter bit murdering Andrew points the finger straight at Paul as a Traitor. Meg has gone so they’ll know she was faithful and murdering Andrew marks him as Faithful. All it would take is someone (maybe a crafty move by Harry or Myles to take Paul down) to say “What if there were 2 Traitors in the dungeon?” and Paul could be a goner.

Riverlee · 11/01/2024 08:45

I had a ‘who’s Evie?’ Moment as well.

i did think Paul excused himself why he voted for Ash the previous night well. He must be very convincing.

it’ll be interesting to see who they start suspecting now Ash and Meg are gone - ie all the obvious candidates. Would they suspect a traitor voting for a traitor? Let’s face it , both Paul and Harry can use that as a reason for not being a traitor.

Riverlee · 11/01/2024 08:46

And unless Paul and Harry turn on Miles, he may slip under the radar.

WoolyMammoth55 · 11/01/2024 08:50

NonPlayerCharacter · 11/01/2024 08:37

She's like a ginger Judy Murray!! Super fit, tough lady who pushes her kids to do well through force of will!

Ash actually made a good point about people under the radar but she made it badly (bit of a pattern for her...)

Evie and Charlie, I doubt I could pick either out of a blonde line up at this point.

Meg obviously was sitting back too, though she's gone now she wouldn't actually have been offed if they'd had a choice.

So it's sort of true that saying nothing gets you further than saying a lot... But the show would be pretty unwatchable if every player tried to stay quiet until day 5!!

2023usernameNew · 11/01/2024 09:07

Aarrgghh, Ash so irritated me tonight.

She knows Paul wants her out and others have started saying his name, and then decides to through Evie under the bus?

that was idiotic and it shows she clearly wasn’t cut out to be a traitor.

I think she just got completely flustered and didn't know what to do.

AnImaginaryCat · 11/01/2024 09:27

@WoolyMammoth55 I don't think anyone is saying Ash should directly name Paul as a traitor - just drop heavy hints. No different to how him shafted her.

I for one absolutely loved Kieron's parting comment making the remaining dopes players rethink their "Wilf is a 100% faithful" mindset.

The devious player being exposed is absolutely delicious.

(I say dopes because gawd knows why they thought Wilf's screaming and crying, and head grapping showed how faithful he was.)

I think this is why, much as I liked Amanda in the last series, I think I always root for the Faithful. The Traitors are at an advantage from the start. They're the predators, they have much more control, and I just love the idea of the hunter becoming the hunted and being outsmarted despite all their advantage. Although if the last series is anything to go by, it doesn't pay to be too smart!

MotherofGorgons · 11/01/2024 09:40

I liked Paul up until yesterday. His scheming made a nice change from Wilf's endless weeping. But ugh: his family love spiel was so fake. He's toast, I think. Especially after that stupid dungeon move.People have already sussed him.

Ash is incredibly stupid too. Why didn't she vote for Paul?

LindorDoubleChoc · 11/01/2024 09:40

It's not a team game. I don't know why people on this thread or any of the players expect traitors or faithfuls to support each other.

I don't like the secret relationship between players thing. For all we know, Diane and Ross could have made a pact between themselves beforehand not to put themselves up as traitors. That would mean they have an advantage over everyone else in being certain of one other player being a faithful. OK so it's a 1 in 22 advantage, but an advantage nevertheless.

ShitIforgothelves · 11/01/2024 09:47

Can someone remind what kieron said last series?

2023usernameNew · 11/01/2024 09:50

Watching Uncloaked now and Ash says she didn’t vote for Paul because she still wanted the traitors to win.

I guess she’s a better person than I am…

I wonder how Miles is going to feel/play the game going forward. He must see Paul and Harry as a team and maybe feel left out and therefore their potential next victim?

Can someone remind what kieron said last series?

After Wilf shafted him, he voted for Wilf and said, "Parting gift, mate" and kept staring at him during his departure speech. And Meryl and Aaron still didn't get it!

I don't think Wilf should have been allowed to recruit at that late stage. He was right that the Faithfuls would have clocked that the remaining Traitor would be a man and they should be allowed to clock that sort of thing without being tricked again because it's a proper deduction that they should be rewarded for. Kieran had no real choice because it was that or be murdered.
