Yes that’s true @bendypines but in my strategy you’d hopefully twig 2 traitors and work out which one is most disposable first Grin

As to how the producers decide who are the traitors, this is what I think:

*Being blunt, they aren’t going to choose only white people, and I imagine The Faithfuls will think this if not say it.

*They’re going to choose one who is “disposable”, who is most likely to not play it well, because they need the Faithfuls to find a Traitor fairly soon. Otherwise is frustrating for them and viewers alike, and they need to mix things up.

*Paul was an obvious candidate as so keen to be sly, and he’s above average clever. They definitely need at least one person who is smart and up for playing.

WriterOfWrongs · 11/01/2024 00:12

Should have added, I think Ash was chosen precisely because the producers didn’t think she’d make a great traitor… or great TV tbh.

I was just wondering, what if Diane is a Mumsnetter? 👀

I think she's one of those posters who makes a chicken last a week.

QueenOfThorns · 10/01/2024 21:56

Ash!! Why didn’t you vote for Paul, you donkey!

Grin
determinedtomakethiswork · 11/01/2024 00:23

I've only just realised that Ross has a beard and glasses and I wonder whether he normally does because those are the best disguises so that he doesn't look like his mum. I'm a bit slow on the uptake!

Twonewcats · 11/01/2024 00:27

Diane already said that people won't suspect her son is Ross as they have different accents.
Re a pp, where did they see her older son?

I wish she hadn’t taken against Anthony in such a racist strange way, otherwise she’d be my fave.

Twonewcats · 11/01/2024 00:29

Ash thought the traitors were working as a team, and so didn't vote for any of them. I think I'd have been as gullible as she was 😬

Tomorrow, I'd be having a think about who didn't vote for Ash.
The irony being that it'll send them on a wild goose chase, as the Traitors all voted to banish her!

Twonewcats · 11/01/2024 00:31

As with last year, I'm still confused re the vow to not identify a fellow traitor - I mean, what could the production crew do to stop someone saying something in their exit speech? We know that's why Wilf was shafted last year, and I still feel like he should have automatically got a share of the money as a result of being revealed.

AmyandPhilipfan · 11/01/2024 00:41

Yes, does the 'vow' actually mean anything or is it just to add to the drama of the show? Because if I'd had to sign something saying I'd be sued for thousands of pounds for breach of contact if I let on who was a traitor then I would definitely keep my mouth shut. But if not then if my teammates who I assumed were on my side set out to turn the others against me at pretty much the first chance they got then I would definitely be making a few pointed comments during the round table - 'oh you think I'm a traitor do you Harry? Well it's very interesting that you should think that Harry and that Paul should think that. Because I happen to very strongly suspect the two of you.' And smile pointedly at them if I was banished. I know it's just a game but there's a Traitors team and a Faithfuls team and I think both teams should support their own players for as long as they can. Faithfuls don't know who's on their team, which makes it harder for them to do that, but the Traitors do!

She was daft to trust them after two of them already voted for her the previous night. She should have twisted it around on Paul with a dig about being untrustworthy instead of randomly voting for Evie. Even though he would still be there the fact he got three votes would have been in people's minds next time. I just don't think she was cut out to be a traitor which is why she was picked I'm sure!

JaneJeffer · 11/01/2024 01:06

Diane and Ross are putting themselves at risk of being thought of as traitors by whispering in corners. The way Diane stares at people is proper creepy. Ross is creepy too.

Or just enjoying the fact that this is a game and not real life?

Although it was amusing to see him so taken aback when he wasn’t as popular as he thought

I wouldn't want to employ him or be in a relationship with him. He lies tremendously. I hope Kate is a smart girl.

Thedrownedprophet · 10/01/2024 23:04

Re Diane and Ross. Her other son had the same accent as her, but Ross's accent is English. He must be just doing an accent for the Traitors.

Her other son sounds English though. At least in the two programmes I've seen him in

Did anyone notice Miles saying “love you ash” at the end and looking very disappointed? I thought that was really suspicious, he’s also overplaying the “I’ve just no idea about anything” card, although I do like him. Agree Zach in trouble now, obv Meg will be murdered but Paul also in trouble.

Another one who thinks Paul is a smug ego, can’t stand him.

I agree it looked suspicious but I felt he genuinely felt bad for stabbing her in the back.

I think Paul's too smart for his own good he's going to trip him self up in his own web at some point

AnImaginaryCat · 11/01/2024 06:15

bendypines · 10/01/2024 23:54

Oh I reckon that Andrew has twigged that he 100% is. But it would be somewhat counter-productive to let a traitor know that, wouldn't it? So what better than to make the traitor think that he has a gullible ally? You don't murder your allies, do you?

I wouldn't be so sure he's twigged. I just feel he's joined Harry and Paul's boys' club.

Willmafrockfit · 11/01/2024 06:15

watching Ash, i couldnt be a traitor either, nerve racking.

Goatymum · 11/01/2024 06:39

I’d be a terrible traitor! I’m far too honest 😆
Ash should’ve voted for Paul for sure, what’s she on? Even for just chucking her under the bus. She knew she was a goner by then anyway. I liked him at first, but he’s really annoying me now - game within a game and all that! Didn’t quite pay off and he’s been talked about a lot more than Harry.

CaveMum · 11/01/2024 06:57

@JaneJeffer I agree, if they’re not careful “Diana Ross” are going to look like they’re plotting together. Which I guess they are, but in a way, but 2 people whispering in corners look like Traitors.

I can’t wait to see if they do another “in plain sight” murder this year. I’d guess Miles would have to do it as he’s the most tactile Traitor and would raise fewer eyebrows for hugging/kissing someone.

I think Ash may have been scared that by doing so she’d be breaking the oath.

She’s not ruthless enough to push the boundaries, so I think she wanted to but was too worried about doing something wrong.

She hasn’t been a good traitor at all.

Holidayhell22 · 11/01/2024 07:43

I think Paul will be safe. I think the faithful will fall fir his performance.

Ash should have voted for Paul stating that she believed more than one traitor was in the dungeon.
Its easy to say what we would do but on the after show she said it was so stressful that she could not think straight.
I think a Paul might make it to the end. He will throw both Harry and Myles under the bus. Harry does what Paul says, he actually believes what he tells him.
I really like Jazz (?) I was urging him to say what he feels about Paul because he is spot on.
Meg will be murdered and I hope someone works out from that, that Paul likely to be another traitor.
I also think Ross and Diane need to be careful, they might get rumbled.

Holidayhell22 · 11/01/2024 07:50

Yes actually if I was Ash I’d be so furious that I would have planted the seed of 2 traitors in the dungeon at the banishment table fairly and squarely.
I would then say, we’ll we will no for sure at breakfast won’t we when the traitor is still here. Tinkly laugh. Fuming inside at fellow traitors.
Then that would be up to the faithful to see and do what they like with that.
God I don’t think I could be on this show.
I would never forgive anyone who threw me under the bus, game show or not.

NonPlayerCharacter · 11/01/2024 07:54

As Claudia likes to say...what's the game called?

CaveMum · 11/01/2024 08:04

I think it’s probably easy to go in with a game plan, but whether you can sustain it and be adaptable when things go wrong is a whole other matter. People really do think they can implicitly trust their gut feelings, but reality shows us that’s not the case.

WoolyMammoth55 · 11/01/2024 08:09

I'm bemused honestly at people thinking Ash should have sat there and said "Harry and Paul are Traitors btw" at the banishment.

Wouldn't that be the end of the show on day 4?! What good does that do?

And also it'd just be pure sour grapes! It IS a game, there ARE rules (although egregiously ignored by Kieron last time) and it IS true that she got herself suspected through her own mistakes/ poor play - Harry and Paul voted for her but they didn't start the rumours about her or backstab her before the roundtable, like Wilf did with Amanda (who was the beating heart of last season for me! Bloody Wilf). They're not really responsible for her going, she is.

Ash not voting for either of them was the classy move, and also really the only move that let the game continue, right?

Also, honestly I think if she'd voted for Paul, after she said she's a Traitor it would have made some people think he was Faithful...

But to be perfectly honest on the Uncloaked show after she said around the table she was just "rabbit in the headlights, mind was a blank"... This is not the right kind of person to be a Traitor! You need at a minimum SOME presence of mind under pressure. She'd have done better in the show as a Faithful I'm sure.
