We define saw ash giving the letter to Claudia-thibk when they did the new traitor one.

You see someone in a cloak who's probably a member of the production team and those scenes could have been filmed at anytime

I was thinking that about the scene of them in the cloaks walking across the steps. The height difference between Ash and Paul is huge but I didn’t notice that when they were walking.

I thought that was such an odd turn of phrase, like he had only just found out!

Wasn't it odd?! Think it took it quite well discovering who his mother is 😁.

lljkk · 07/01/2024 14:57

Did the filmers sneak looks at the votes before filming that last round, so they'd know who to end on for the cliffhanger? Very cunning !

I'm sure they did and might also have ensured Anthony has voted for either Ash or Brian as it doesn't quite sit right (with me at least) that the banished person is effectively chosen at chance.

Twonewcats · 07/01/2024 16:30

I think the people arriving in groups of 3 is because last year the viewers worked out that the last 2 people arriving couldn't be traitors; and so they've changed the format.
I haven't paid attention to whether the last group arriving have contained any traitors or not - has anyone else?

I think Ash might have been in the last group one of the days, but can’t remember which.

But the viewers already know who the traitors are so why does that matter? Unless you mean people who were viewers last year and are now players would think that and it would help them find the traitors?

Yes. So the last to arrive would be the person that the Traitors had been debating about murdering (I cant remember now what the exact process was) , and therefore had been the cliffhanger from the previous episode.
In other words it was a surprise to the viewers too, to see who was last to arrive.

However, lots of people queried how another series would be possible, since that flaw had been worked out

Sluj · 07/01/2024 17:52

I thought it was strange that Ash had no idea she was in the firing line . Paul and Harry obviously hadn't pre-warned her but decided on their own strategy instead.
Paul is behaving as if he is an actual...psychopath 🤣

Samcro · 07/01/2024 18:12

Why do they knock on the door?

Edited

I recall Harry telling Ash that he had heard her name being mentioned a few times the first or second time they were in the tower. If they knew she was going to be targeted in the last round table they may have thought it was too dangerous to seek her out and warn her.

I think Ash is finding the traitor cloak hard to bear - she can't be herself to bond with the faithful. Maybe she doesn't trust herself not to slip up and say the wrong thing.

The last two people in were always Faithful, to keep viewers guessing at who had been murdered. Last year's players never twigged that, although obviously everyone knows it now, so they need to shake it up a bit. I expect there's a lot of very clever editing and we aren't seeing everything in order.

Choux · 07/01/2024 18:27

Samcro · 07/01/2024 18:12

Why do they knock on the door?

Maybe sometimes meetings with producers happen in that room so they aren't sure if breakfast is already on or it's a chat on arrival with producers.

NonPlayerCharacter · 07/01/2024 18:28

I expect they're told to knock in order to get all the shots needed to build suspense.

This year there are 4 murder candidates each night. Two are revealed relatively early in the breakfast arrivals and so there is only one murder candidate who arrives in the last three. It is therefore quite possible to put the traitors in the final three arrivals.

I remember that too last year. But surely they could still have 2 people arriving last, a traitor and a faithful, and we would still have the suspense element of which faithful would be the one not to arrive at all?

Exactly that. Otherwise you could be deep in conversation and not realise you needed to squeal.

But then it might still be possible to figure out who the traitors are if they don't get banished and keep appearing last. Or if the traitors twig that's what's happening, it might affect their choice of murder victim for the wrong reasons.

LindorDoubleChoc · 07/01/2024 20:36

Just caught up.

I find them ALL very sheep-like. Very few original thinkers in there and as soon as someone expresses a suspicion about someone being a traitor a number of them suddenly seem to get persuaded by that.

Why haven't we seen any comments about Paul or Miles from the rest of them? I can't believe there haven't been any, just we haven't been shown them.

I would quite like Ash to be banished, purely for the drama of it all. And anyone with a half a brain cell will then know that anyone who didn't vote for Ash originally but then changed their vote in the second round is a traitor. It could get really interesting if all the traitors get voted out quickly. Presumably they'd have to recruit some new ones, perhaps people who really didn't want to be a traitor? I'd prefer that to Paul, Miles and Harry surviving nearly til the end.

IGotItFromAgnes · 07/01/2024 20:50

I’m not sure I agree with you on that. I’d need to go back to check, but some people had to change their votes anyway, as the person they originally voted for wasn’t in the tiebreak (Paul definitely, would need to check on the Faithfuls)

ETA: Ross changed from Meg to Ash in the second round of voting

Pleasbekind · 07/01/2024 20:54

honestly, knowing Brian IRL , this hit him hard because he is very creative and innovative. he's never been described as a Sheep. I think he took it personally, because it's not who he really is.

MadeOfAllWork · 07/01/2024 21:08

Also, they were asked all these questions after knowing each other for a few days. How do they know anything about each other?
