This is not spoiler because I genuinely don't know, I haven't googled or watched ahead.

I fear Jonny is the one who just got murdered ! I have a big soft spot for him, I'll be gutted if (when) he goes out. Zack will get picked on & banished even though he's an obvious nice guy, too.

Big ginger guy is entertaining for sheer evil cunning ruthlessness. I reckon Kyra would be the same sort of entertaining ruthless ... if she stays.

I would definitely fear being banished far more than being murdered. Also, it's obvious that the faithful are all useless at finding traitors early on. It's laughable how clever many of them think the are at reading people & observing, and how easily deceived they are. Diane was astute to comment on the lemming behaviour.

Aubrey annoyed me hugely I'm glad he got m'd.

Is that castle open to the public in the Summer? It’s stunning.

Watervolt · 05/01/2024 02:18

itchychin · 04/01/2024 22:41

Ginger traitor looks like Vincent Van Gogh and dresses like him too. Aubrey looked like The Lorax. Ex military looks v familiar but we can’t work out who he look like.

Reminds me of Nigel Thornberry!

I really like Diane, I think she's (inadvertently?) hilarious.

The new shield game-within-a-game has added an interesting new dynamic. It's already causing tension between the contestants - IIRC it was Zach who said a bad faithful was the same as a traitor, when in S1 I don't think that was ever an aspect.

Willmafrockfit · 05/01/2024 05:52

i like the traitors, but they really should have got diane to either be a traitor or murdered her

Hobnobswantshernameback · 05/01/2024 07:13

Thing is the traitors have sussed that whilst Diane is astute in some ways and may well
suss them out she's so acerbic people don't warm to her or listen to her.
she will struggle to form
alliances and people may actively ignore and vote the other way.
She would be too obvious a victim for now but may well be picked off if a few people start siding with her

PuppyMonkey · 05/01/2024 07:26

I really hope Diane stays, she’s TV gold. The traitors will leave her for the time being, as she’s digging her own grave.

Outtatherepronto · 05/01/2024 07:48

Do you think there’s anything in Diane being Paul’s mum? If so, could they already be team playing? No one suspects Paul but he had the biggest grin when the blindfolds came off.

the80sweregreat · 05/01/2024 07:53

I only dip in and out of this programme, but last night I was blown away by a song of ' walking on the moon' as it took me ages to work out what it was it was so slow
I have only seen one or two episodes and a bit lost with the rules , can people become traitors ? I know they are picked out initially

I’ve only seen eps 1 and 2 so haven’t RTFT as I’m behind telly speed.
Diane’s actual son is Northern Irish and looks nothing at all like Paul.

ThePoshUns · 05/01/2024 08:09

I don't think Dianne has done herself any favours so far.
She has no warmth and her reasoning for eliminating were poor and dare I say came across as prejudiced? Sorry have forgotten the guys name have slept since watching!

2023usernameNew · 05/01/2024 08:15

Another non Diane fan here (although I admit she’s good for the show).

like it’s been pointed out, her reason for nominating Anthony is purely personal and nothing to do with being a traitor. The way she was shaking her head when others were voting for Sonja, I think as a teacher she’s used to being in charge and she’ll find it hard to not be able to control the situation.

I didn’t like the guy with the moustache saying to Ross ‘if it’s not Sonja I’ll come after you next’. If that’s how they’re going about it, then no one will want to voice their suspicions for fear of getting it wrong and being vanished next’ They’ve just arrived, no one really knows what they’re doing yet.

I do think Anthony should have called Dianne out on nominating him for something that happened at a point in time at which the traitors hadn't even been picked.

Dontjudgeme101 · 05/01/2024 08:26

I agree about Diane @2023usernameNew about Anthony.

Riverlee · 05/01/2024 08:34

Poor Anthony is a marked man now, and I fear he’ll go in tonight’s banishment, due to herd mentality again.

I would have liked Sonja to stay in a little longer as she was a colourful character, in every sense of the word, although I wouldn’t know who should have been banished in her place.

Diane is pure tv gold. The fact that she was the first to speak at the round table shows she’s confident, and portrays an air of authority (I was ‘t surprised she was the first). She has that ‘teacher is speaking so listen to me’ manner about her, and people seem to respond to that.

True but if everyone had a chat with Claudia where she asked them if they wanted to be a traitor or a faithful then they will assume that the traitors said they wanted to be traitors.

So Dianne is looking for any behavior which might indicate someone might have said they wanted to be a traitor and being self centered, not a team player and unfriendly might fit. Esp as others have said Anthony has changed since they met him on the train.

ThePoshUns · 05/01/2024 08:46

Yes Anthony will need to work now to get people on side.
He looked genuinely taken aback by his nomination and went in on himself rather than argue back which he would have been justified in doing.
A lot of people were bunched in the middle and why should he have moved when he'd chosen his place?

It's a reminder, like last time, that it is actually really hard to spot a liar and suspicious behaviour can truly be guilty or innocent.

We know he's not a traitor so if he's changed, we know it's because the game is on and he's now suspicious and trying to root people out. It's not traitor behaviour but you can see why they think it is. Theo (I think) got banished in the last series because he seemed a bit weird and detached but again, not traitor behaviour. Everyone, traitor or faithful, is responding to stress of some kind and it's interesting to see all the different ways that manifests...and how easily they could all be for either reason. The most relaxed and natural seeming people probably are traitors. After all, they're in the role they want to be in and they've got the upper hand.

AnImaginaryCat · 05/01/2024 08:58

I think Diane's loud "yes" when Sonya reveled she was a faithful says all we need to know about her personality. She believes whatever she thinks is correct and it's obsessive about it. She needs everyone to be aware of anything she considers proof of her correctness.

Anthony is going to be persecuted by her. She must have been an very unpleasant teacher.

She looks much younger that her age doesn't she (though weirdly not in the painting of her.) In a genuine way not in the usual way that means "you don't look shite for your age".

AnImaginaryCat · 05/01/2024 09:09

I agree @NonPlayerCharacter, we have knowledge of who are traitors, so interpret behaviors differently.

But it does make me laugh when they go on about people changing. How do they know! They've known each other for a few hours.

Must point out, I'm under no illusion that I wouldn't be the same, if I was on the programme. After all I've decided on Diane's personality after observing less that two hours of her!!

NonPlayerCharacter · 05/01/2024 09:14

I'm biased by the fact that I know this anyway, but while it might not be likeable, it does point to her being Faithful. She didn't do the "yes" until Sonja confirmed she was Faithful, which is the clue that she wasn't glad of the banishment, she was glad to be proved right.

Although as with anything in there, for all the Faithful know, that could be a bluff.

Yes, this is particularly true when you’re dealing with a bunch of complete strangers!

Chewbecca · 05/01/2024 11:26

I'm conscious that the two who have left so far were the oldest in the group. Won't be long before Diane is out too I imagine.

queenofthewild · 05/01/2024 11:40

I've read somewhere that the boardroom scenes in the Apprentice take several hours to film. I wouldn't be at all surprised if the round table in the Traitors is similar.

The way the majority of people in the room vote for overwhelmingly for one individual after what seems like a short discussion is strange, but also a fascinating insight into human behaviour and herd mentality.

Early in the series, the odds of spotting a traitor are low. Nobody really knows anyone else and the ratio of faithfuls to traitors means that a wild stab in the dark will lead to faithfuls being banished.

Later on the traitors have to play a much more clever game. You need plenty of smart faithfuls to build up the prize pot. But the smart faithfuls often need to be bumped off before they suss out who is a traitor.

I've noticed 2 traitors have already slipped up, but it's gone unnoticed. Theo said something at breakfast (I think) agreeing that he was a traitor and than managed to bumble out of it.

The night before, Harry said "See you later" to Paul as he was heading home for the night. Might have been a figure of speech, but they were indeed meeting in the tower later.

IGotItFromAgnes · 05/01/2024 11:50

Theo isn’t a Traitor, is he?

See you later could well be a turn of phrase - it’s one I use - but Harry should probably have avoided it considering!

florentina1 · 05/01/2024 12:05

Dianne came across as very entitled. She accused Anthony of being rude because he would not let get to the place she wanted in the line. Why should he move. She is likely to get her own way in the school and cannot see why life outside should be different. I am with Anthony on this, she is malicious and uses personal attacks.
