I can’t stand Diane. The comment about Anthony was ridiculous. When they did the line thing, they still hadn’t chosen who traitors were and it had no bearing on who was chosen.

I thought Ginger Guy was being too obvious by his facial expressions that he is a traitor but no one else seems to have looked at him so that’s probably just me.

Loving the new series and this thread.

Sonja - as Jamine said, she may have been a faithful but she wasn't a very good one. All Ross did was point out that Sonja was stirring things - by misreporting what had happened - and I was delighted that he and others banished her. I didn't think it was herd mentality - as has happened in other series. She lied, was causing trouble and others called her out on it. I thought it was ridiculous for Jonny to say if Ross was wrong about Sonja he would come after him but this is also what they have done in other series. All it meant was that they got it wrong about Sonja being a traitor - but she sealed her own banishment.

I initially thought these traitors were not of the same calibre as Alyssa, Amanda and Wilf - Paul's gurning and Ash's inability to cope with being called out as a traitor by Sonja, Harry seemed out of his depth. It's interesting how Paul seems to be well regarded in the house so maybe the editing is misrepresenting how he's coming across in the house. If Ash can calm down she'll do well as she's good at forming alliances. Harry is leading the traitors in the turrett with a lovely manner. Miles is probably the one to watch - very personable and observant. Points out things the other traitors don't appear to have thought of. Clever enough to hide under the radar. Seems more in control of his emotions than the others at this stage.

Thanks for the recommendations wrt the Media Show and the Irish podcast. Ivan, Rayan and I think Wilf will also be doing a weekly podcast.

We are only seeing heavily edited footage of what the producers want us to see.

It's great TV but it doesn't give us any indication of how we would be reacting if we were there.

RoseTulips2023 · 05/01/2024 12:15

Oganesson totally agree. Diane did herself no favours - after Anthony saying let's start again - by repeating that she doesn't like him. One minute she's talking about her experience as a teacher and dealing with difficult characters. Next she's giving the impression that she will never get on with Anthony. As a teacher you're supposed to start each day anew with kids - doesn't sound like she did that.

I only dip in and out of this programme, but last night I was blown away by a song of ' walking on the moon' as it took me ages to work out what it was it was so slow
I have only seen one or two episodes and a bit lost with the rules , can people become traitors ? I know they are picked out initially

Sometimes the Traitors are offered the chance to recruit, but that usually only happens after another Traitor is banished.

NancyPickford · 05/01/2024 13:21

I'm a lurker, and a big fan of the show, but am delurking because someone may be able to help with my conundrum. They all leave the castle at night and then the traitors return in the cars to do the turret meeting. How do they get out of their accommodation without any of the faithful knowing that someone is going out again?
I also really, really dislike Diane and her steely manner.

NancyPickford · 05/01/2024 13:42

@BillStickersIsInnocent thanks for that. The castle is so remote it's hard to imagine there are 22 individual places of accommodation a drive away. I'm just off to google where the castle actually is ... https://ardrosscastle.co.uk/ and it's available for hire, but not for accommodation.

How many pairs of glasses has Sonja got?

We will never know, or what it was that she was knitting…….

I remember looking up the castle last year, and I'm sure the website then had details of the on site accommodation. At the bottom of the 'weddings' page, it says this:

Our exclusive hire weddings include accommodation for up to 41 guests for two nights, usually the night before and the night of your wedding. Subject to availability and an additional charge, the accommodation can be hired for extra nights.

I think there are 'outbuildings' converted into accommodation, so I imagine that's where they stay. Although 41 guests would mainly be in rooms for 2, so with 22 in the cast, plus Claudia and all the crew, they clearly couldn't all stay there. Maybe there are umpteen luxury motorhomes in the grounds!

@NancyPickford I wondered that and asked on the spoiler thread, apparently it’s very well orchestrated.

Thanks for sharing that, we were wondering too how it's all planned out.

I'm surprised they can't spot the Traitors - you'd think they would be the ones that are yawning all day if they have to stay up so much later than everyone else.

RoseTulips2023 · 05/01/2024 14:37

Yes - the Daniel Craig Sty Stallone comment was genius:)

Faithful might not sleep well knowing they might be murdered. Presumably none of them go to bed until the night's murder is decided because they all might be brought into the murder room.

Stowickthevast · 05/01/2024 17:35

I quite like Diane. She's been quite astute about who may be traitors although I agree her reason for nominating Anthony was ridiculous.

I hope she remembers her initial suspicions of Harry.

I don't like Paul but he seems to be playing a successful game.

LindorDoubleChoc · 05/01/2024 18:01

Just place marking as I haven't watched the whole of episode 2 yet.

It's already irritating me enormously the amount of hysteria and squealing and hugging when they see each other at breakfast! FFS.

To a PP who asked a few pages back - yes, the traitors absolutely did have to swear to keep the identity of ALL the traitors a secret for the entire duration of the show in series 1. But that sore loser Kieron broke the rules by blatantly giving Will away (AFTER he himself had been banished) and causing the most stupid ending imaginable. The three most clueless contestants won the prize when Will obviously should have won. It still rattles me, that does!

I'm very curious about the separate accommodation for 22 people in the vicinity. The castle seems to be in the middle of nowhere? Do the traitors get taken home and then brought back to the castle later (and then home again?). That's an awful lot of driving around in the middle of the night.

MadeOfAllWork · 05/01/2024 18:07

And the players will have to be in separate rooms, no sharing.
I expect the crew are all in digs locally.

Riverlee · 05/01/2024 19:03

Do you think they also have breakfast in their own accommodation, as the breakfast provided is only croissants and fruit, not very substantial. You’d think they’d be provided with a cooked breakfast at least.

RedToothBrush · 05/01/2024 19:34

Loving Diane because she's so completely unaware that she's on the money and a total preachy know it all. She's sooooo a teacher. But it's funny to watch. Plus I want to see how the Mum thing pans out.

Equally Zach is horrid and soooo annoying but it's currently still winding up the other contestants more than me so that works.

There's plenty of others I'd like to pot before either of these two for entertainment purposes.

Paul is going to wind me up soon as he is one of those where power goes to his head and he'll need putting back in his box.

dapsnotplimsolls · 05/01/2024 19:42

I think Diane is fascinating but playing the game badly. I suspect she'll get banished quite soon.

RedToothBrush · 05/01/2024 19:46

Oh Diane will be banished very quickly. She's totally reading the social aspect of the faithfuls wrongly and scaring the traitors who will work to stir the pot. She's totally doing both angles wrong.

Riverlee · 05/01/2024 19:50

Is Zack the one who suggested that non-shield winners should be the ones who had the opportunity to win a shield? If so, I thought he made a good point then and was a good team person, although he did look a bit sulky when his idea was rejected ,can’t remember what else he said) . Although also agree the fittest people should do the running about.

Did anyone else notice how often we got a shot of Diane during the round table last night? Practically after every vote there was a shot if her. Some of the other candidates/contestants/campnates we’ve hardly seen (clairvoyant, Ross, Meg, Anthony etc).

dapsnotplimsolls · 05/01/2024 19:53

I don't think I've ever seen random glasses guy before!

Oganesson118 · 05/01/2024 19:57

@LindorDoubleChoc I'm still fuming over how the last season ended too.

MadeOfAllWork · 05/01/2024 20:13

I love Claudia but I can only think of is Janice from the muppets band.
