Marcus is a bit mean this evening.

fourquenelles · 13/11/2023 21:54

Marcus is being particularly snotty tonight

EsmaCannonball · 13/11/2023 21:54

That tart looks beautiful. It's the kind of thing you buy and then feel incredibly stressed about how you're going to get it home without ruining it.

littlbrowndog · 13/11/2023 21:54

Thers none today that’s stuck out as being good

Marcus is a bit mean this evening.

He's properly grumpy.

GrouchyKiwi · 13/11/2023 21:55

On another day Marcus would be praising a chef for a beautifully executed dish that respected the ingredients.

EsmaCannonball · 13/11/2023 21:55

'A day he'd like to forget.' I bet quite a few chefs go all Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind after meeting Gregg.

TheDogsMother · 13/11/2023 21:56

These are another group where if they'd been in a different heat they may not have made it through.

Pebbledashery · 13/11/2023 21:57

Bye blokes

OP posts:
ChicoryDip · 13/11/2023 21:57

You're absolutely right @TheDogsMother. Another heat and nearly all would be off.

EsmaCannonball · 13/11/2023 21:57

Don't they usually save someone brilliant for the final heat? Might be someone impressive tomorrow.

fourquenelles · 13/11/2023 21:57

Well done the wimmin

Pebbledashery · 13/11/2023 21:58

See you all a morrow

OP posts:
GrouchyKiwi · 13/11/2023 21:59

A couple of kids tomorrow night.

See you then for more disasters!

TheDogsMother · 13/11/2023 21:59

See you tomorrow Chuffs.

FoFanta · 13/11/2023 21:59

I think Cecily will get the most from continuing - it will help broaden her experience. Let's see what tomorrow night's batch brings.

jay55 · 13/11/2023 22:00

See you for the next one. Hopefully. May have to work late

ilovesooty · 13/11/2023 22:00

See you on Thursday. I'm going out for a Mexican meal tomorrow!

Cookingdoesntgettougher · 13/11/2023 22:00

Agree on the variable levels, just good for bad luck the heat you are in.

FuckingHellAdele · 13/11/2023 22:00

Seizure tomorrow all

Ohwhatfuckeryisthis · 13/11/2023 22:00

Honestly don’t be put off by Ayesha’s chattiness, the food there (Queen of cups) is amazing, almost all naturally gf and the negroni was amazing.

TerfTalking · 14/11/2023 06:50

Trots off to look for Freekeh…..

Sholkedabemus · 14/11/2023 09:26

ChicoryDip · 13/11/2023 21:51

So tonight we've had undercooked...

... scallops
... squid
...pigeon

I guess it makes a change from lamb?

Yes or the other potential disaster, chocolate fondant.

BIWI · 14/11/2023 10:02

Did anyone ever watch The Brigade (I think that's what it was called), which was another professional chef reality show, run/hosted by Jason Atherton?

If you think Marcus is mean, bloody hell he was awful. And especially as the whole idea - I always thought - of a brigade was that it was about a team working well together. He really didn't come across well. Looked like a bit of a bully. (And funnily enough a second series never appeared).

Mind you, I also remember, back in the day, when Monica was really, really fierce. She's mellowed completely over recent years. There was one episode where one of the (professional) chefs didn't use a different board, or the other side of her board, to prepare something after she'd used it to prepare meat or chicken. She was told by Monica to leave immediately - didn't even let her finish her dish.
