I'm not sure it'll reach the heights of the BBC ALW shows (I loved those!), but I'm going to give it a go.

Some Greek sunshine will also be nice now the evenings are getting darker!

I like that they only have 7 girls and 7 boys.Should make it easier to get to know them( and remember the names!)

mrsnjw · 22/10/2023 18:56

Ahh corfu! We have booked to go there next year.

algasport · 22/10/2023 19:02

Wow fab! Leah and Esme. Esme definitely looks the part but Leah's voice was fantastic.

IsadoraQuagmire · 22/10/2023 19:02

I'm steeling myself up to watch this in a minute. I dont like this sort of thing at all and I really hate Mamma Mia, but an actor I'm very keen on is one of the seven men!

Oh dear, not getting that these were the best of the auditionees, especially the guys.

Yes, I’m quite glad we didn’t hear the rest.

At least both parts are actually quite small!

Missed the beginning. Are they not auditioning for leading roles then?

AllegroConMoto · 22/10/2023 19:12

They’re main characters but it’s actually the older cast who have more to do in the show

criminallyvulgar · 22/10/2023 19:13

Honestly I reckon the backing dancers are the best thing about this so far

LIZS · 22/10/2023 19:23

Bit unfair that some had a lot of choreography and others very little movement.

Riverlee · 22/10/2023 19:24

I was thinking the same @LIZS . The two lads had a lot more acting etc instead of just strolling across the stage (and they were my favourite, although missed the first half hour).

Riverlee · 22/10/2023 19:26

love Zoey’s pink suit.

algasport · 22/10/2023 19:29

I enjoyed it- just want to be sitting there at sunset with a glass of ouzo.

purpleme12 · 22/10/2023 19:33

I was expecting it to be pretty much the same as the other shows years ago but just for a different musical.
But it's obviously not.
I think you have to just forget about the others and see it as a whole new programme.

Doteycat · 22/10/2023 19:36

Christ on a bike that was shite.
Cringe TV. Totally hammy.
And I love mamma mia and corfu.
Complete yellow pack show. V disappointing indeed.

AllegroConMoto · 22/10/2023 19:55

A couple of the judges are going to annoy me. I don’t like Alan Carr at the best of times and although I’ve never heard of Jessie Ware she seems irritating from what I’ve seen so far.

algasport · 22/10/2023 19:58

I didn't like AC until his Greek renovation programme and I thought he was naturally funny on that so I'm prepared to give him a chance.

I did wonder whether this was going to be like a cross between the Andrew Lloyd Webber casting shows and Love Island, when they asked if any of the boys and girls had um got on.

Then Alan Carr came on, and I turned over. So I will never know.

algasport · 22/10/2023 20:12

Oh well just me thenGrin and my daughter who loved it!

bizzey · 22/10/2023 20:28

I enjoyed it !
Watched the first half
Recorded the 2nd half
Turned over for strictly results
Then watched the recorded 2nd half !!!

My life is so exciting 🤣🤣!

Just an excuse to listen ti Abba

Riverlee · 22/10/2023 21:31

I enjoyed it, although expected the standard to be higher.

Citrusandginger · 22/10/2023 21:44

First 2 girls were really good. But is went downhill abit after that. So, assuming as it's all pre-recorded, they are not having a public vote?

Don't they trust the great British public or something?

purpleme12 · 22/10/2023 21:49

Yes it sounds like it may not be a public vote thing?
My child says she wants to watch it next week.
So I'll watch it next week and we'll see how it goes from there...

PolkadotsAndMoonbeams · 22/10/2023 21:50

I think they said there was a public vote?

So maybe they've filmed all the Greek bit (well, they must have done because Sam Barks had a baby last week) and then we choose in a live show at the end? Although that seems a bit mean to keep the decision hanging over the contestants for months and months.

I enjoyed it. It was a more expensive looking show than I thought it might be so ITV are obviously hoping for it to do well. The girls are far stronger and more interesting than the boys who all just sort of merge into one.
