Mamma Mia: I Have a Dream — Anybody else watching?

I'm not sure it'll reach the heights of the BBC ALW shows (I loved those!), but I'm going to give it a go.

Some Greek sunshine will also be nice now the evenings are getting darker!

I know one is in a tour, but the person playing their part hasn't been announced for any of the venues past December. So it could be either way — either they might be in Mamma Mia so leaving, or they are carrying on and it hasn't been announced so it doesn't spoil the tv show.

Toby was in Heathers before, I don't know if he's gone back?

They can't just not work for six months I suppose!

I was so sad that Maisie left, it should have been Leah- I agree with the pp who said she doesn't have Sophie's silliness.

Why were they so strict with Esme? Her voice was great!

Desmond and her Skye sounded so good together.

I was at the theatre in the West End on Saturday night and am almost sure Stephanie was an audience member. She walked past me in the foyer! She's absolutely tiny.

Often in the west end they forgo the need to look biologically related- the Hamilton sisters being the first example to mind. I've also seen a different race Eliza/Ana duo, Fontaine/Cosette duo too.

I loved the last performance to Shallow.

Maisie had a beautiful voice but lacked that 'wow factor'.

Agree that Esme is getting a hard time!

I thought desmonda and Tobias gave the strongest performance overall. I thought they were harsh on Esme and Zachkiel. Both did ok I thought. Callum was definitely the weakest. I think Maisie probably was the weakest girl.

I feel like they picked a diverse group in terms of looks, personality, ethnicity and experience. Which obviously makes it more interesting. Currently tho I'd say nobody is completely wowing me, although Tobias and desmonda came close.

I think they were hearse on Esme and Zak as well who, I agree, did decent performances.

Theatre is more forgiving than film in that respect, but I think it does still help if the audience doesn't have to swallow their disbelief too much.

Esme was clearly very nervous and that probably scared them. Zach possibly got a black mark because of his perceived attitude to criticism earlier.

Leah needs gone. Nothing to do with her look/size but she doesn’t have the Sophie character for me, or quite the right voice.

I think Leah is a good performer and I hope she gets good work out of this. I agree she isn't frivolous enough for Sophie though.

We don't understand why they keep being made to sing all these other songs. Surely, just ABBA songs would be enough?

Yep I didn't like the first one, I like the Megan one even less. None of them are even like what they'll be doing if they win the part

Didn’t think these were as strong vocally but the acting part was okay.

I think Owen was better than his partner in that last one but agree the first couple were better
