The Ex-Wife is a four-part series that begins on Channel 5 on Sunday 15 October at 9pm with each episode airing weekly at the same for the Autumn 2023 season. This drama was previously released on streaming service Paramount Plus on Wednesday October 12 2022. All3Media distributed internationally.

Tasha, played by Céline Buckens, appears to have everything, from her loving husband Jack (Sleepy Hollow’s Tom Mison) and their beautiful daughter Emily to their gorgeous home and seemingly perfect life.

The only problem is Jack’s ever-present ex-wife Jen, played by Janet Montgomery, calls him constantly and refuses to sever ties with his family.

But when it all comes crashing down, Tasha is left with no choice but to turn to Jen, the woman she despises, for help.

The Ex-Wife follows Tasha (Céline Buckens), who appears to lead the perfect life. The only fly in the ointment is her husband Jack’s ex-wife who is an ever-constant presence, speaking to Jack nightly and always turning up to family functions.

Then, one day Tasha returns home to find Jack (Tom Mison) and their daughter Emily missing and, at her wit’s end, she has no choice but to ask Jen (Janet Montgomery) for help. But the pair have never seen eye-to-eye, so can Tasha really trust Jack’s ex?

I saw this advertised a while back but as I don’t have paramount couldn’t see it

Looks good

Think there has been a s2 as well so hopefully that will come later

To be fair about it all if we really pick holes it starts back at when Jack knocked Tasha off her bike. I thought she'd have been quite badly injured and not at all disposed to speak to him. Fin.

Well I doubt many MN posters would toddle off to a strange man's flat after a RTA when feeling whoozy, maybe concussed... (as I thought at the time).

Well!

I watched the last two episodes together after the final one had been broadcast - and I really enjoyed it.

I guessed when Tash didn't collapse with shock/horror/griefthat Emily would be alive, and Tash would have her, but had no idea how she would have been got out of the car and snuck away (Tash was just too calm - didn't strike me as in "shock").

I was prepared to suspend disbelief as long as the baby was OK, so that worked out well for me.

Agree they seem to be setting up a second series, and hope that somewhere in it Hayley (cowboy!) gets her comeuppance. She's VILE!

Yes there were holes in the plot but I enjoyed the series enough that they didn't bother me or spoil my enjoyment at all. Some other series make me really angry with implausible plots but this one had my attention from the start. I liked that it started with the crash scene at the start and was pretty fast paced.

I also liked the final episode showing the ex-wife's perspective - although she did still end up sitting in her ex-husband's home drinking fine wine which is taking the piss a bit but not quite the evil child stealing ex she was initially portrayed as being.

This series and the Inheritance have really changed my opinion of channel 5 dramas as they always used to be pretty shit!

We love cheesey ch5 dramas @mum2jakie

The last 2 episodes were the best.
Actually I think the last episode was really good.
Best channel 5 one for a while I think

Blondeshavemorefun · 07/11/2023 22:58

Def very enjoyable and loved the twist seeing his side then jen actual truth

Still not sure why she told Tasha and why she took her side and not her ex who she still loves

The finale was certainly better than the car-crash that rather spoilt The Inheritance. Enjoyed it, anyway.

I wouldn't bother watching the next series. I was bored at the end and didn't really care, due to how unlikeable the characters were.

I don't think my nerves could take it if she carries on not watching her Daughter.

Blondeshavemorefun · 09/11/2023 12:44

I thought that the last episode was a bit of a damp squib. But 1000 times better than The Inheritance!
