The Ex-Wife is a four-part series that begins on Channel 5 on Sunday 15 October at 9pm with each episode airing weekly at the same for the Autumn 2023 season. This drama was previously released on streaming service Paramount Plus on Wednesday October 12 2022. All3Media distributed internationally.

Tasha, played by Céline Buckens, appears to have everything, from her loving husband Jack (Sleepy Hollow’s Tom Mison) and their beautiful daughter Emily to their gorgeous home and seemingly perfect life.

The only problem is Jack’s ever-present ex-wife Jen, played by Janet Montgomery, calls him constantly and refuses to sever ties with his family.

But when it all comes crashing down, Tasha is left with no choice but to turn to Jen, the woman she despises, for help.

The Ex-Wife follows Tasha (Céline Buckens), who appears to lead the perfect life. The only fly in the ointment is her husband Jack’s ex-wife who is an ever-constant presence, speaking to Jack nightly and always turning up to family functions.

Then, one day Tasha returns home to find Jack (Tom Mison) and their daughter Emily missing and, at her wit’s end, she has no choice but to ask Jen (Janet Montgomery) for help. But the pair have never seen eye-to-eye, so can Tasha really trust Jack’s ex?

I saw this advertised a while back but as I don’t have paramount couldn’t see it

Looks good

Think there has been a s2 as well so hopefully that will come later

Mmm I watched it but just the whole premise just would never happen.
I'm not even a stickler for realism in dramas but when the whole premise just would never happen in real life mmmm...
I mean no current wife would ever be so calm about what the ex wife does and it would have blown up way before now ..

Blondeshavemorefun · 16/10/2023 22:31

True @purpleme12 She is very chilled

But so is ex hubby with her popping in

Then obv at end he is seeing her and lied about it

And obv not New York

Yes well the husband is obviously a badun anyway which is why he's fine with her of course.

But there's just no way any wife would have even let it get this far

JMSA · 17/10/2023 03:58

I watched episode 1 and enjoyed it.

As someone who is staunchly anti-cheating, I can't say I'll lose any sleep for Tasha!

the80sweregreat · 17/10/2023 06:21

We didn't see what Sam put in his pocket, but having a DNA sample seems plausible. I thought he was her brother at first , so didn't think of this aspect.
The ex has a bit of leverage now she's seen her with sam in the house and the hubby will probably explain this visit to his ex away somehow as just a visit , even if it's a thin explanation. He seems good at talking her round

Blondeshavemorefun · 17/10/2023 08:12

Oh yes. A hair brush good point

I did say how did she know it def wasn't sams - unless they didn't have sex in the last 3mths

Well tech if separated /on a break and seperate bedrooms and allowed to date if wish

Tasha didn't do anything wrong

He chased her

Technically she didn't do anything wrong. And to be honest, I don't find the ex wife's involvement all that strange. I mean you or I wouldn't want to put up with it, but given some of the stuff you read on here, well, the saying now't so strange as folk didn't come about by accident.

DNA is a good call.

the80sweregreat · 17/10/2023 11:38

The ex wife is out of order for sure. Especially drinking the nice Italian wine. I'd be pissed off at that.
I wonder how'll he'll talk his way out of being at her flat ? ( sorry, can't remember the husbands name)

martinisforeveryone · 17/10/2023 12:00

Tash/Tasha/Natasha is the wife
Emily, her baby
Jack the husband
Jen the ex wife
Hayley, Jack's sister and Jen's best friend of 20 years or something
Sam, Tasha's friend and ex boyfriend

Looking on IMDB there are quite a few more characters who appear in three, two or just one episode.

I agree it's totally out of order for Jen not only to let herself into someone else's home, albeit her former home and then to be sat there drinking wine is really sinister. I wonder how come Jack got to keep the house?

Also got to remember that Jen, who he's painted as a bit of a hot shot interior designer, is now in thousands of pounds of debt, which is apparently owned to the Inland Revenue. How's that going to fit in to the overall picture?

the80sweregreat · 17/10/2023 12:20

Thanks for the list of characters names.
Obviously the tax problem will be significant
Jack will probably pay or lend her the money ?
Or have to sell on the dark house ?

Blondeshavemorefun · 17/10/2023 13:36

He was happy to pay almost £25k student loan off for Tasha

So sure he will pay her tax bill

the80sweregreat · 17/10/2023 13:59

I'm surprised the ex wife let him live there alone
Most people have to sell on their homes following a break up

Blondeshavemorefun · 17/10/2023 14:20

She moved away after got together with Tasha

Maybe he brought her a little place

He is Rich

Clawdy · 17/10/2023 18:06

It's worth watching at the moment, certainly, but none of the characters are really likeable - except the baby!

Blondeshavemorefun · 17/10/2023 18:14

I enjoyed it @Clawdy

But we all know I'm easily pleased on tv 😂😂😂

I'm actually wishing Tom
Was Friday

And want to know what going to happen /what Tasha will say to dh and ex

duc748 · 18/10/2023 23:57

How certain are we that Jack and Jen are even divorced? I get the sense that Jen's money problems are his problems too. If Tasha is as savvy as she's made out to be, she will know for sure who's the daddy.

the80sweregreat · 19/10/2023 13:35

Are Tash and Jack married?
When is it on next?

Didn't Hayley say to Tasha, we all know how you got that ring and the house?

I think she said 'ring'.

It's weekly.

Blondeshavemorefun · 19/10/2023 13:52

They are married as was the 1st wedding anniversary at the beginning

When ex then rings and says about heads up

And he pays off her student loan of £25k or so as a wedding present

And Tasha says ex knows excatly what date is is

From the end of e1 and both ex and dh together sneaking in a flat

He knows how to gas light Tasha

Emily can't be Sam's because he's black or mixed race.
I mean, I'm sure it's biologically possible but very unusual for a child with a black or mixed race father to appear completely white?
