The Ex-Wife is a four-part series that begins on Channel 5 on Sunday 15 October at 9pm with each episode airing weekly at the same for the Autumn 2023 season. This drama was previously released on streaming service Paramount Plus on Wednesday October 12 2022. All3Media distributed internationally.

Tasha, played by Céline Buckens, appears to have everything, from her loving husband Jack (Sleepy Hollow’s Tom Mison) and their beautiful daughter Emily to their gorgeous home and seemingly perfect life.

The only problem is Jack’s ever-present ex-wife Jen, played by Janet Montgomery, calls him constantly and refuses to sever ties with his family.

But when it all comes crashing down, Tasha is left with no choice but to turn to Jen, the woman she despises, for help.

The Ex-Wife follows Tasha (Céline Buckens), who appears to lead the perfect life. The only fly in the ointment is her husband Jack’s ex-wife who is an ever-constant presence, speaking to Jack nightly and always turning up to family functions.

Then, one day Tasha returns home to find Jack (Tom Mison) and their daughter Emily missing and, at her wit’s end, she has no choice but to ask Jen (Janet Montgomery) for help. But the pair have never seen eye-to-eye, so can Tasha really trust Jack’s ex?

I saw this advertised a while back but as I don’t have paramount couldn’t see it

Looks good

Think there has been a s2 as well so hopefully that will come later

This is great Sunday night viewing. You don't have to believe a word of it, obviously, but good fun still. The fear is that it will all go to ratshit in the end! 😁

Nineandahalfonabadday · 23/10/2023 01:06

So did Sam find Emily's birth certificate when he was rooting through Jack's office? The camera scrolled down but we didn't get to see who was listed under mother. It's been so long now but don't both parents have to be present to put both names on the certificate? Could it be that Sam saw Jen's name there and if so did Jen go with Jack to register the birth? So what did Tasha think happened with registering the birth? Questions, questions!

duc748 · 23/10/2023 01:14

I thought both parents were shown on the birth certificate, and it all looked kosher. Although I could be misremembering, it was only a quick glimpse. Of course, the very fact that he was able to find exactly what he was looking for in a few moments seems a bit implausible, but never mind about all of that...

And it's been a plan all along, to be able to get a baby? They never split up in the first place? It was just because they couldn't have their own baby?

Emily did look a bit darker in this episode, to be fair - actually she's probably played by another child as she's supposed to be 18 months or so now.
Can't Tasha see Jack is gaslighting her? And that "this isn't the way it looks" is the oldest saying in the book.
Jack and Sam are both guilty of crimes against fashion at the least - Jack for that awful grandad cardigan and Sam for the hideous multi coloured sleeveless jumper.
Jen's house looked like it was in Queensland or somewhere, definitely not Britain. Then cut to another scene and there are London buses and underground signs.
Great indoor play area with those rides though!

It was filmed in Budapest.

Nineandahalfonabadday · 23/10/2023 08:25

@daffodilandtulip that's what I think too

Blondeshavemorefun · 23/10/2023 08:31

@daffodilandtulip I said that in e1 that may be a ploy to steal her baby as can't have her own

See the end. Had a phone call middle of it

So tech separated but not reallly. One shag and she's preg tho he and jen did it for years and nothing ......

In some ways not suprised jen is reluctant to let go of the wealthy life style

The sister is a bitch bur guess it's her best friend who has been dumped

Equally as I said in my first post after seeing for a few mins can't beleive any eh dh thinks it ok to do that with ex

Obv she didn't trust Jack hence tracking his phone and there was Jack and jen

What an arse - he obv isn't going to finish with jen and is gas lightening Tasha

Maybe going to make her go mad /die and steal her baby and then jen become mummy

Tho saying that. The first few mins did jen die in the car crash explosion ?

Really enjoyed and roll on next week

I believe I called it here 😂😂😂

Steeling baby and playing happy families

I think it was fairly transparent about the jiggery pokery with Jen and Jack and wanting to acquire a baby, although why they wouldn't just employ a surrogate is beyond me. It'd be ironic if the twist was that Emily isn't genetically related to either of them.

I think I said before how it seems a bit odd that Jack held on to the marital home as a bachelor pad. Tash's chances of them selling that and moving were always going to be zero. Hayley's visit after such a long drive was super suss too. At times she seemed quite sincere and yet she was off so quickly and it just didn't ring true did it.

butterpuffed · 23/10/2023 14:11

This is really good for a Ch 5 drama ! So now Jack's not contactable and Sam wants to see Tasha urgently , must be to do with the DNA results [even if he's received them far more speedily than is usual !]

Blondeshavemorefun · 23/10/2023 17:54

See ch 5 isn't all cheese 😂

😅

Motnight · 23/10/2023 20:59

Tash seemed very trusting of Jack going to New York again, bearing in mind that last time he was meant to be there she found him at his ex wife's.

I am really enjoying this!

She did didn't she

I'll was struggling with Tash throwing herself at Jack on the landing. Didn't fit with her state of mind, I thought, and in fact at first I assumed she was putting it on for some reason, but as the scene went on, it appeared not! I reckon Tash is going for a "give him enough rope" strategy!

Blondeshavemorefun · 23/10/2023 22:13

She will prob be preg after the hall floor shag

Papergirl1968 · 23/10/2023 22:30

I’m enjoying it too but with an air of “who writes this trash?” bemusement. The book is probably much better than the TV adaptation tbf.

purpleme12 · 24/10/2023 21:46

I'm watching it.
The characters are annoying me so far.
As if the current wife would go see the ex wife and as if she'd be all nice to her
And also the ex wife just happened to come when it sounded like the current wife is having an affair. Mmm how predictable

purpleme12 · 24/10/2023 21:57

As if you'd just leave your baby like that.
I mean I know it's supposed to portray her being paranoid but I don't buy it. You wouldn't do that

the80sweregreat · 25/10/2023 12:27

The soft play area was great ( much better than UK ones are) but I can't understand why she just left the toddler sat there!
I think the husband and ex are in it together myself , but that is a bit too obvious I suppose

purpleme12 · 25/10/2023 12:29

It seems like it could head that way..
But yes it's not hard to work out...

The leaving the baby thing is ridiculous. She'd have picked her up in reality.

duc748 · 25/10/2023 13:23

Yes, that's the direction they're pointing us in, but I expect there will be a twist.

Blondeshavemorefun · 25/10/2023 19:51

Hope tnere will be a twist

It's dodgy he took his sled off the phone finder

And our ex on the nursery list but surely they know who mum is .....

OP posts:
purpleme12 · 25/10/2023 19:52

Mmm yes even if this person was authorised on the list, they must have known she wasn't the mum

purpleme12 · 25/10/2023 19:52

And the nursery person who let her go said she gave her to the mum
