Have listened to it now @kenyaswhiterefrigerator Their comment about how Tasha's diabetes being barely featured was interesting especially as they went to the effort of filming her injecting herself. It explains her grumpiness although it doesn't excuse her nastiness to Erica or her potentially getting physical with Paul (if that is what happened). Tasha is upset it was edited out. I wonder why they did that, it might not seem as "sexy" a subject to them as the others but it's still relevant and worth finding out the largely hidden difficulties that diabetics face.

@Mothership4two Lara on Eyre is also worth a listen if you haven't already. She does a lot of post show interviews which are interesting

I didn't know that Tasha was diabetic...
I was diagnosed as Type 1 at the age of 55yrs. It's always in the back of your mind...
Interesting that a member of the Cambridge Blues was diagnosed as Type 1 several years ago not long before the big race!
He went very public about it, but again, it never even got a mention!

Tasha being diabetic and having to inject is a massive thing that they've over looked FFS. Why did they do that?

There was a scene where Tasha was giving an interview (or whatever they're called when they speak privately to the cameras), she was upset/angry about something. My husband turned to me and said, "Wow - she reminds me of you in a hypo." I think I glared at him and pointed out I was nothing like Tasha (in a jokey 'Oi!' way) - this was before we knew she was a T1 diabetic.

Amazing how my DH, who rarely watched the show with me, was able to spot it, as someone who lives with a T1 (me being the T1 however, never spotted anything!).

Some of her behaviour actually makes sense now, especially when you consider the huge fluctuations she would have had during the show with her levels. (It doesn't excuse all of her behaviour, but it certainly helps explain some of it).

I watched some of a TikTok of hers earlier where she was talking about her T1. At times they made her wait until other cast members had finished filming to inject, meaning at some of the dinner parties she was riding in the high 20s for some time.

If this is true, it's disgusting the producers did that.

In fact, the more I think about it, the more peed off I am about.

Why film someone giving injections and then editing it out (for 30+ episodes). It just seems to enforce the stigma around diabetes, and how we should be ashamed to be T1s and keep it 'hidden'.

Yet Jordan was allowed to completely skip out on the partner swap task, as he felt uncomfortable doing it due to his OCD (and quite rightly so, he shouldn't be forced to do anything that make him feel uncomfortable, and set off his anxieties) but Tasha's medical condition was kept as a dirty little secret, and no allowances seemed to be made for her.

As a type 2 in remission at present ( yeah I find that term a bit odd ), but having a father with type 2 and been there for hypo and hypers and regulating it when we didn't have efforts by food and drinks companies now. I think it's bloody abhorrent & possibly a case for legal action on Tasha part as a type 1 forced into windows when she can and cannot.

That seriously could impact her health and set her back as other with T1 have said. Hypo and Hypers are not fun to watch , be around or experience and frustrates me producers in this day and age, put filming ahead of it. If true.

I am guessing she hasn't been able to move or regulate on one of the micro injection pump and skin glucose sensor solutions yet that some have been lucky to move to. That would of least helped to remove the need to have to Oliver it and ask the producers to do a please sir can I inject now.

Thank you so much for posting that @CurzonDax ; I feel terrible for thinking badly about her (shown) behaviour during the show and absolutely livid at the producers on her behalf for endangering her health in such a cavalier way. Tasha's T1 diabetes clearly wasn't as important to them as Ella's fucking "story". 🤬

Is her diabetes part of the reason she had to leave Paul's mum's when she got ill, do pp think?

And yes, raising awareness of diabetes would have so much more valuable than Ella's bullshit 'journey'!

Yes, that thought crossed my mind too.
If she was being sick like that, and it was diabetes related,, then it can be quite serious!
No wonder that Paul has been so patient and supportive!

Have now listened to the latest Lara on Eyre podcast (thanks @Appalonia) with Mark which was interesting - the group as a whole didn't come across well. He feels he was largely edited out and Sean misrepresented himself and their relationship - he is annoyed that Sean not being there for genuine reasons/lack of effort meant he didn't meet someone who might have been partner material. The group now sound cliquey and, he said, are being protective of agent information and appearances. He thought he got along well with everyone but is thinking again about that. He said the only one who keeps in touch regularly is Roz. I saw him on MAFS It's Official as well and he does come across as a character (seemingly perfect reality material), funny and genuine - he doesn't appear to be trying to sell anything or increase his profile.

This group cliquey selfish behaviour was brought up by Adrienne recently (I can't remember where). When Matt was letting the group know about his new relationship with Shona, Erica rang her to let her know so that she didn't find out secondhand and Adrienne said the only other person who reached out to her was Porscha. Peggy and Georges have also said a few times recently that they feel a distance coming from the group. Erica has been mentioned a few times recently as being really nice from different group members including Luke. It didn't really come across on the show!

Just remembered Mark said Laura would insert herself into everybody's dramas for more airtime for herself. Not surprised. I hope she disappears into obscurity and she doesn't get her wish to get on to Made in Chelsea or that Arthur gets on it and she doesn't!

Now that would be funny if Arthur joined MIC and Laura faded into obscurity!

I saw a bit of an Insta live with Ella and Tasha. She said she did have sex with JJ and that was discussed/filmed both amongst the group and on the couch, it was just never aired.

That's a huge part of "their story" to miss out and the fact that one partner appears to not want to have sex with the other one tends to be a big indication that they are not really attracted to them whatever they may say. With the way they were portrayed I did wonder at the time whether JJ was a bit stuck, having binned Bianca, he would feel he couldn't do the same to Ella. Obviously wasn't the case. I wish the programme makers would stop trying to tell their stories for them by omitting things and let us make up our own minds.

Just listened to Georges on Lara on Eyre. He said that Jordan told him off camera that he was going to be argumentative with everyone to get himself shown more, not to take anything he said to heart and Georges said Jordan's behaviour on camera confirmed it. Georges also said that he thinks they are the only ones not to have got management - assume he means an agent? He still can't understand why none of them like him and said a couple of the men have sent him nasty voice messages.

Also he said that many of the embarrassing things he said right at the beginning were when he had been told the camera was switched off
