Paul was there when Tasha called Erica a tramp. That would have been a massive red flag for me. He accepted that it was OK because Erica didn't hug her. A, so? You just don't do that, and B, there was bad blood between them and it would have been two-faced to hug each other. I am no fan of Erica either!

determinedtomakethiswork · 06/11/2023 18:50

I think Paul would have had a shock when he saw the episode where Tasha was so horrible. She was vicious.

thenightsky · 06/11/2023 21:00

Do we know what Tasha actually did to Paul that 'crossed the line'?

Are they? They’re the same thing as far as I’m concerned.

I mean I think it’s clear your view is very narrow minded, if you can’t understand that there’s a difference.

No, quite the reverse. It’s not me who has double standards - one for a natal women and a completely different one for a trans woman. I’m not the prejudiced, judgemental one here. Sex is an important part of a romantic relationship, Ella’s granny recognises that.

browneyes77 · 06/11/2023 22:08

How many seasons of MAFSUK have we had now?

And only 2 couples are still together?

Adam & Tayah
Zoe & Jenna

No you’re missing the point entirely.

Ella as trans woman, ‘seemingly’ to some, needs the sex part to actually validate her transformation into a woman.

Roz, just likes sex. She doesn’t need the validation. She just likes sex.

Ella is now a woman in a woman's body , so why is the transition an issue? Why does she need a label?

To me, Roz uses sex as a tool to try and work out her feelings and it does seem to me that her sexual partner Is just the operator of the toys....

At the moment Ella probably just wants a "shag" with her "husband" because she is feeling horny...surely we've all been there at times, but that doesn't mean that Ella hasn't got an emotional feeling with JJ aswell.
I was born female in the "right" body and I find that good sex with someone I love is very vindicating for me as a woman...

Peggy is a 32 year old teenager still living with her parents. We now know why she is so dull, it's because she hasn't grown up. Her and her parents mindset seems to be stuck in pre 1960s. I fully expected the dad to take Georges to one side to discuss his 'intentions'. And they are all so shallow, they aren't interested in him at all just his earning potential - "well he's not a grafter". While I watched them talking about his lack of career ambition I was thinking "and what about Peggy's?" - she basically seems to have zero career ambition in fact her major ambition in life is to be a wife and kept woman. I thought Georges tried to put his best foot forward and did nothing wrong. Peggy again threw him under the bus. I totally sympathize with him getting annoyed. I think Georges comes across as the opposite of lazy. How does Peggy think he lives in quite a nice home if he doesn't work for it? The irony of the dreamer comments because he is trying to start up a new business (while still working in his old career) is that Peggy has recently announced that she is starting her own business too selling vintage clothes.

They are totally incompatible though. He should set his sights a bit higher.

Mothership4two · 07/11/2023 01:33

Did anyone else think that Paul turned into a kid again during homestays especially with his friends? Sniggering into his drink. I have always really liked him. They were right though, he should run for the hills!

Was a bit weird though to be given a hard time for being ill. No-one wants to be throwing up in what is basically a stranger's house. Maybe Paul badly worded it? But if DS said to us that his girlfriend had left overnignt because she was i/being sick, I would ask if she was OK, not assume I had upset her. Thought that was all a bit strange/staged?

Mothership4two · 07/11/2023 01:42

I really felt for Roz and Thomas. They both seemed so upset. I really felt they were being genuine and were hurting. I guess reality hit her and she doesn't want him there as her partner/husband. Tough on them both.

There are two couples from season five (which was interrupted by Covid) that are still together.

Owen and Michelle (having a baby next month)

There's another couple from season five whose names I can't remember (possibly Paul and Claire?), their wedding was never shown as it was 3 days after Covid hit, but they were allowed to exchange details and contact each other, then they locked down together and they're still together! So they were put together by the show but didn't actually appear on it, but they've also had a baby!

It sounds like season five was the last proper trying to match up couples that would most likely work. Then Covid hit, everyone watched MAFS AUS and loved the drama, and the UK ones pivoted to that model!

Humans can't change sex. Ella will always be a man that has lots of surgery and has taken cross sex hormones. Ella does not have functioning female genitals so cannot experience sex the same way as a woman can.

So what? She’s still entitled to a sex life.

Haha you've really been brainwashed haven't you? Can't believe someone can be so stupid as to buy into that bullshit.

Toptutort · 07/11/2023 08:50

@Mothership4two
I totally agree! Why should Georges provide a financial statement over the dinner table at their very first meeting!
His gaming is his hobby - not his main job!🙄

Toptutort · 07/11/2023 09:00

@Mothership4two
Maybe Tasha didn't want to stay there anyway....
I like her even less than I like Peggy!

Augustus40 · 07/11/2023 10:21

I have generally found that people who live with their parents still in adulthood are not grown up enough to cope with relationships. In general.

It sounds almost supernatural - to be a woman born not a man’S body. So, it is the “spirit” of a woman in a man’s body? So this is a philosophical issue not a political one?

How would you know what it felt like to be a woman if you were born male?

if someone asked me what it feels like to be a woman I am not sure I could answer. I certainly would not say that I have a desire for hair extensions, bigger breasts and high heels. I might say that I have been ambitious all my life, that I abhor violence , love to learn and be around family and friends etc - but I think many men could say the same.

One thing that has plagued me all my life and thwarted my ambitions (even though I have done very well) is discrimination against women. I might even say that this is a defining aspect of my subjectivity. No trans person can say that.

I'm not saying Ella can't have a sex life, I'm saying Ella won't experience sex in the same way as a woman.

And why is that relevant? I probably don’t experience sex in the same way you do.
