My teenager has turned off Buffy part way through the episode where Joyce dies and has decided he isn't watching it again.

I remember when Will died in the Good Wife feeling quite depressed afterwards.

Oh just thought of another one: Root (Miss Groves) in Person of Interest. Her character arc was amazing and I was more distressed by her end than when Joss died.

I literally think of this regularly as it was traumatised me. There were so many complaints to the bbc about it.

Yes to Reyna James. I was watching that show for some light relief when work was hard going. Was not expecting her to die!

@exLtEveDallas DS had been saying the episode before he is pleased Tara is one of the gang now. Maybe it's good he has decided he isn't watching ever again!

For me it was when Aiden Connor committed suicide in Coronation Street. It wasn't that I was attached to the character but the way it played out made his death so shocking. I stopped watching it after that.

@autienotnaughty I'm pretty sure it was "I love you Clarkey". No idea how or why it's stuck in my mind!

Oh gosh yes you are right. I cried when she died I thought she was amazing. (I was about 10 at the time)

Also Colin and Ruth in spooks. Poor Colin’s dangling feet. My dm is still traumatised by the deep fat fryer and never watched spooks again. DH still mentions it every time he (thankfully rarely) used the dff.

I agree about Spooks but they killed main characters off with gusto so you never got too attached in case they were next!

Cat dying in Lip Service was very graphic.

Matthew in Downton on Xmas day was brutal.

Sarah Barnes in Hollyoaks. Although it didn't show anything gory, her death was absolutely horrible.
