My teenager has turned off Buffy part way through the episode where Joyce dies and has decided he isn't watching it again.

I remember when Will died in the Good Wife feeling quite depressed afterwards.

As soon as I read the post title, I thought of Will in the Good Wife too.

All the Greys Anatomys deaths. So many to count!

Holly Barton on Emmerdale

Charlie on Lost 🥹 not Penny's boat

Blake's girlfriend in Home and Away, possibly early 90s (?). I remember it being so very sad and I cried and cried and dreamed about it. I can't remember her name but she had cancer and she and Blake sit on the beach all night and as the sun rises she dies in his arms, wrapped together in a blanket 😥

I remember being traumatised when Tom dies in Home and Away. More recently though Cassie in Unforgotten was a shocker.

Howard Hamlin in Better Call Saul.

I don't want to ruin this show for anyone who hasn't seen it because it is a great little Aussie series and people might want to give it a go if you can find it, but the major death in Offspring still stays with me. (I won't say who it is, but if you've watched it, you know.)

The Body is a hard episode to watch but so well acted.

This one shook me. That show never shied away from killing off cast members, but Ianto was a surprise.

Yes to Joyce, and also Tara - In both cases the superb acting of the survivors: SMG and AH is just heart wrenching.
