Late to the party. I Loved loved LOVED this series so much. So weird and unsettling and mind bendy.

So many unanswered questions.

I think I will personally go and stalk Ben Stiller for an answer about what the numbers are about if we don’t get a season 2.

Did anyone else watch it?

I’m in the “Helena has taken over full time and Helly no longer exists” camp so far. We shall see!

Pemba · 04/02/2025 17:04

Poor Helly then!

They did show them all getting in the elevator in episode 2

I thought she made up the story about being in a flat as she didn't want to admit to being part of Lumon

Did they show her inside it? I thought they showed the other 3 inside it but not her but I can’t properly remember now

Chrysanthemum5 · 04/02/2025 17:23

There must be a way to get to the severed floor without losing memories because Mrs Cobel etc manage it.

I also think marks wife is dead but they are bringing her back by recreating her innie's memories. I think that's the place that Irving keeps drawing - where they keep the memories so they can bring them out again

IPartridge · 04/02/2025 17:44

They showed her coming out of it in ep 1

Ms Cobel isn’t severed though, so it wouldn’t be an issue. That floor doesn’t affect everyone - just those who’ve been through the severance procedure and had the chip implanted.

MrsFrumble · 05/02/2025 17:30

I watched S2 e3 last night, so I think I’m caught up now. I’m wondering if Harmony Cobel was severed at some point and has been reintegrated. She seems very erratic; driving away from Mark into the middle of nowhere, seeming to make decision and going back to Lumon to demand her job back, then driving off again.

froginawell · 07/02/2025 19:01

Having watched ep 4, I think that maybe both innie and outie are in a simulation/controlled environment.

I may try to make the team at work start worshipping kier. Sounds like a recipe for a productive work force.

MargoLivebetter · 07/02/2025 21:10

I understood very little of episode 4. I'm going to have to watch it again.

fingertraps · 08/02/2025 12:41

I loved s1 but I’m really not enjoying s2. I didn’t appreciate the sudden change in momentum and storytelling after the end of last episode where Mark reintegrated. I’m going to stick with it but right now I feel so disappointed.

I mean, ok, so you want to do an episode where the innies go outside, but then you don’t spend any time thinking about the fact that these people have never ever had private chill time to themselves, and never had a space to retreat to apart from the toilet, and might not even know how to walk outside but they just somehow magically adapt?

I didn’t love the stuff with the farm animals previously either. There’s enough of a story with the whole severance thing, we didn’t need a whole thing with goats too.

I really hope this is all actually going somewhere.

I do this with every episode, I need to workout what the hell is happening. 😄

I’ve yet to watch episode 4 but so far I’m reeled in and just hoping it doesn’t disappoint later.

Goodness, I wouldn’t read this thread before you’re all caught up - people might post spoilers.

I’m only an episode behind, season 2.

Severance obsessive here, and one of those who waited 3 long years for this series after having discovered it on Apple in 2022. It is absolutely brilliant, and like nothing else out there. This week's episode 4 was not only cinematically stunning, but a total and utter mind f---k!
I love all the Apple spin offs too - Ricken's book and audio book The You You Are (free on Apple) , Lumon's Linkedin account (which is hilarious), Ben Stiller & Adam Scott's podcast...and the "Lexington letter" from a Lumon whistleblower!
It all keeps me going waiting for each new episode. :-)

Checking in. I loved it so much. I don’t understand why there isn’t more love for it.

I have a theory that people probably think it's something do with being made redundant. 🤷🏻‍♀️
And I still come across people who don't understand that anyone can subscribe and stream Apple TV+ . They think it's for Apple users only.

I do think the best stuff is on AppleTV - Ted Lasso, Slow Horses, Severance, Bad Sisters and plenty more spring to mind. It has less of a 'churn 'em out whatever the quality' mentality than Netflix (which I hardly bother with anymore these days.)

Time40 · 08/02/2025 20:13

I know a lot of people think it’s Helena pretending to be Helly - but how would she get onto the severed floor without the chip activating?

Maybe she could have the override done, just for her?

We've lost Irving's innie! Have we really lost him? I can't bear it!

Well we have an answer now - the ‘Glasgow block’.

BiscuityBoyle · 08/02/2025 22:18

Yes, Melchek radioed to remove the block.

I have no idea what that was about but I think they weren’t outside at all. I think it was some kind of simulation.

Chrysanthemum5 · 08/02/2025 22:27

Yes it seemed to be some sort of VR. And Irving forced them to remove the block so helly came back

I wonder if he will end up in the same place as Gemma

Rustytoasty · 08/02/2025 22:39

Irghhh I hated it!! So contrived. Maybe I’m missing something but I have it two episodes. What am I missing?!

Iwishiwasapolarbear · 08/02/2025 23:14

I think so too. The telly couldn’t randomly work on the cliff like that

NormalAuntFanny · 09/02/2025 08:01

No fog on their breath in the snow, but maybe a telly thing rather than a plot thing.

But, and this has only just occurred to me, if it was some kind of VR then Helly wouldn’t have been in any real danger.

fingertraps · 09/02/2025 10:09

I’m still seething that they didn’t pick up the storyline of Mark’s reintegration, I really didn’t like this episode at all.

Netaporter · 09/02/2025 11:08

But why is it always winter where they are? Snow is everywhere on the outside, are there any theories about that?
