A new series began tonight. Looks like more of the same: kitchen islands and eye-watering overspending ahead.

Oh no, poor guy.

Glad they got something

Meredusoleil · 12/07/2023 04:26

Have I missed an episode? Was there one on last night? I could only see tennis on my TV Guide!

Rummikub · 12/07/2023 04:29

Yes it was on Tuesday bbc 2

Oh! I didn't spot it. What time?

Rummikub · 12/07/2023 04:34

I want to say 9pm. Pretty sure it was 9.

PriamFarrl · 12/07/2023 07:07

Yes, it was 9.

I can't believe they prioritised the blasted tumble dryer over a second loo. Were they running some kind of laundry business? If not, then they've lost the plot. A tumble dryer (a normal one, which would probably be WAY more efficient that the ancient one) could go in a small shed. But what they really needed was more bathroom capacity.

LadyEloise1 · 12/07/2023 08:24

I felt sad for the family that due to the husband's back injury they were unable to complete the job.
Lizzie was very empathetic.
Hopefully in the future they will be able financially to do the upgrade.

The love for the tumble dryer 🙄
I think that was over egged.

jay55 · 12/07/2023 13:49

Nice to have a family stop rather than spend three times the budget.
Couldn't understand most their choices. But it made a change.

Freshair1 · 12/07/2023 20:52

Good to see a humble home and budget. The prefab made a huge difference in the end.

AbsoIutelyLovely · 12/07/2023 20:54

I really don’t like the presenter, Angela. She’s a sarcastic wee madam.

Rummikub · 12/07/2023 21:00

I really like the presenter!

AbsoIutelyLovely · 12/07/2023 21:09

I don’t know why. I’m Irish myself so it’s nothing like that, I just find her hard. Cold?

Rummikub · 12/07/2023 21:20

Oh that’s odd, I find her warm and infectious!

Toohotforchips · 12/07/2023 22:23

I love Angela and her fabulous fashions. Bring back Robot Wars too, while I think about it.

It was so nice to see a build with a modest budget. The prefab was a great idea as was the innovative way the girls bedroom could have been divided into two. Both architects were amazing and I wish we could have seen one of the bedroom designs realised.

FeltCarrot · 13/07/2023 12:50

I usually love Angela’s quirky dress sense but he was definitely channeling Grayson Perry with the green checked huuuuuge collar maternity dress!😂

I think you meant she 😉

FeltCarrot · 13/07/2023 18:02

Oops yes! Fat fingers 😳

JobMatch3000 · 16/07/2023 21:48

Just catching up. Agree that they should have put a second toilet in the extension. It was a lovely space though and the family were very relatable.

Cathotels · 18/07/2023 21:02

Really liked the end result tonight, though I think they should have kept the utility, hate a washing machine in the kitchen

Elmrosie · 18/07/2023 21:10

Does anyone know where the teal sofa was from? It's just what I'm looking for to replace a too big sofa.

Meredusoleil · 18/07/2023 21:22

I'm also glad they went with the more practical option although the arched doors did look amazing. Also think they should have kept the utility, the sliding door (did they incorporate that or just put a taller door in?) And Nylah's art area too.

BruceAndNosh · 19/07/2023 05:33

I'm always a week behind so only just watched the tumble dryer one. Lovely family but the tumble dryer obsession was weird.
I would have liked to see how the girls reorganised their bedroom once there was no piano in it.

Don’t think they said. But borehamwood so I’d try Fishpools - lots of people I know from north London/Herts get our furniture from there. Me included.

I think Lizzie might eclipse Laura as my favourite architect. She’s just so lovely and practical. I did love Will’s arch he did manage to completely forget they had a child.
