But of course the big question is, will Arabella Weir move in two doors down?

Ah, sorry! Peter explained it was left in his cab.

From what I vaguely remember Rufus was a passenger in Peter’s cab and behaved like an obnoxious little shit. Peter kept the watch and pawned it to fund Carla’s rehab. The rehab she didn’t need as she was just temporarily doped by Stephen spiking her tea with LSD or something

I think they had to up Gemma's image a bit to make her slightly more believable as a love interest for Henry. How she could afford the new outfits is a mystery though.

You're probably right. It's still not convincing though.

Findyourneutralspace · 12/08/2023 14:05

Im more disgusted by Peter’s brew making revelations than any trouser or watch related crimes. Milk in first?? Heinous…

bizzey · 12/08/2023 14:25

I always thought it was ..

Milk in first if using a teapot.
Milk last if using a bag .

Can't see the cab office having a teapot somehow !!

EachandEveryone · 12/08/2023 15:28

They all have lovely make up done Ive noticed. And they all have great eyebrows!

That's definitely the rule. And I don't normally drink tea, or have milk in it when I do. But I'm not an animal.

Gemma as the only PA in town is a big, big shark to jump. Couldn't they have had her PR-ing Newton and Ridley ciders at events, or whatever it is she's been doing this past week?

Sharonspleatherleggings · 12/08/2023 19:52

Never put milk in first
Brew/ pour tea and then add milk to get desired colour.
It's a class thing like calling dinner tea.

She always has new outfits but it is the same old tst.

Surely it would not be unreasonable of Ches to question exactly why Gemma has been offered this job?

From Ches face I think he wants to question it but he won't because Gemma will be bringing on a good salary so he looked resigned to it.

PleaseGiveMeBackMySummer · 12/08/2023 22:43

Sorry but Gemma, and Henry Newton being a couple, is like Prince William and Mimi McGuire from Shameless. Does. Not. Add. Up. No waaaaay would someone like him go for Gemma! 😂 It's what they call on Digital Spy 'a suspension of reality!'

Optimist1 · 13/08/2023 07:29

Has no-one thought what arrangements they will make for child care whilst Gemma's working full time?

(I'm guessing Newton & Ridley will turn out to have a creche or Lauren will be entrusted with the quads or something equally ridiculous).

I was disappointed that we weren’t treated to a mention of when Jenny had a job promoting low calorie cider with Steph Barnes - the legendary Pomme de Lite 😄 They had to go to the Rovers dressed as apples and everyone LOL’d. Then there were bottles of Pomme de Lite on sale in Alf’s shop for years afterwards 😄

Milk in first always. Milk in last in coffee

Helendegenerate · 13/08/2023 09:23

Those pesky quads! I say that from the writers' viewpoint.

It must have been one of the worst script ideas ever and gawd knows how they will deal with it as already the little ones have become all but invisible.

I've lost track of how old they're supposed to be but they can't stay upstairs forever or be content with colouring books and crayons at the coffee table. If the writers think it's credible that having Chesney put a few toys away into a box or iron tiny non iron teeshirts means a realistic 5 children household then they're seriously insulting us.

Quads were born Oct 2019 so will be four in Oct.
I think Nursreeeey will be the way forward, they get funding as 3 year olds the term after they turn 3, so could have gone at Easter but never mind!
Once they are at school we won't see them anyway.
I think Ches will ruin Gemmas chances anyway and she will be back int Rovers.

Helendegenerate · 13/08/2023 10:03

Yes it can all be solved so easily.

I think there must be a secret purple door in Corrie land where all babies and little ones go through and enter the twilight world of Soapland.

WomanStanleyWoman2 · 13/08/2023 10:08

It was a terrible, shortsighted idea. It’s not only a logistical nightmare, but a disaster from a storyline perspective. There’s a limited number of stories you can build around small children anyway, so to try and do it for four in one family will be virtually impossible. And what happens if they want to keep the family long term? A soap like Corrie doesn’t need a huge teenage cast - and if you’ve got four in one family, who do they interact with? You’ve already ruled out teen romance stories for more than half of your teen cast!

I honestly think the producers need to accept that it was the wrong decision and write them out. Bernie can move in with Dev so that we get to keep her.

I'm pleased to see a new actress playing Ruby. The old Ruby was painful to watch with zero acting skills.

WomanStanleyWoman2 · 13/08/2023 10:17

Yes, I think it was long overdue for her to start “concentrating on her schoolwork”.

Yes I find it very irritating

Usually one of them will be ill and Alex's regular appointments with deaf clinic would have an impact.when do they shop and clean and how do 8 of them live in the house with one bathroom
