Oooh, oooh… maybe Sean could trip over one of George’s model ships and fall down the stairs, leaving him unable to prepare the all-important hotpot. Jenny despairs at this latest blow to the Rovers, until Gemma has the bright idea of Chesney taking over the kitchen and making his gourmet burgers.
The burgers are a huge hit and the new gastro Rovers is packed out. Henry Newton, spotting an opportunity, makes an offer for the recipes, but Chesney and Gemma hold firm and decide they’d rather live in poverty never claiming benefits forever. Meanwhile, Sean recovers and throws a hissy fit when Jenny wants to keep Chesney on. To solve the issue, the two go head to head to see which sells more: burgers or hotpot.
Betty’s Hotpot becomes a surprise hit with the hipster crowd, who praise it as simple but flavoursome peasant food. The Rovers is busier than ever. In an attack of conscience over trying to steal Gemma (a bit like when Grotbags used to turn nice in the Rod Hull and Emu Christmas Special), Henry makes a large cash donation to Steve’s crowdfunder, meaning Jenny can keep Sean AND Chesney on and the Rovers is saved!!
Two weeks later, all the hipsters have gone and it’s back to Evelyn and Roy buying a small brandy and an orange juice, but this doesn’t seem to affect the profits and everything goes on as normal.
