Place your bets for how many years out of date the storylines in the title will be by the end of the thread… 😁

How she didn’t break her ankle I’ll ever know! Always knew those cobbles were dangerous!😅

Skinnermarink · 01/07/2023 14:40

Tracey’s fringe! It looks like she’s let a toddler at it with her floristry scissors 😂

HurdyGurdy19 · 01/07/2023 14:55

I thought the same about Tracey-luv's fringe. How bad was that 😳

Much as I enjoyed the Hillman era, my favourite villain was John Stape. Not quite sure how they managed to make a serial killer storyline funny, but they did

CherryogDog · 01/07/2023 17:19

Is that a pig's head you've got on display?
No madam, it's a mirror
😅😅
Fred's expression just made it even funnier lol!

buzz91 · 01/07/2023 23:35

I loved the humour with richard tbh, all the ‘damn it’ looks when he’d hear Emily was unwell but still fighting fit and little looks when he’d get an evil plan

eggandonion · 03/07/2023 17:43

Tracey and the family tree was great.

TennisWithDeborah · 03/07/2023 19:29

It’s just so brilliant at the moment. Hillman obviously, Peter/Lucy/Shelley, and Fred as a doting but awkward hands-on grandfather.

Betty and Blanche at the butcher, berating Boris (that’s a tongue twister!!)

The arrival of Kate Ford has made CS even better, she’s brilliant, great casting. I love that smile that never quite reaches her eyes.

Rosie starting to rebel. I’d forgotten that Helen Flanagan was a pretty decent child actor. Jack P Shepherd set the bar high but she was great too.

Tourist29 · 04/07/2023 21:42

Anyone else finding Shelley really whiney, I’m fast forwarding most of her scenes with Peter

Fergie51 · 05/07/2023 07:17

Shelley is so needy at the moment and her acting is dreadful.

Topictwenty · 05/07/2023 08:48

Agree Shelley’s acting at the mo isnt great at all.
not related but what I realised when watching yesterday, is the lack of friendships on Corrie even in 2003. Having watched classic Corrie from the mid 90’s over the last few years, I’ve realised my favourite time was when there were so many really lovely friendships esp between women.
Rita and Bet. Bet and Betty. Gail and Alma. Gail and sally. Audrey and alma. Diedre and Liz. Just feels like there are none of these real relationships any more. Even Gail and sally who are still in it in 2003 aren’t really very friendly given their past closeness. I think the soap lacks something because of this even with the great storylines which are showing now.

buzz91 · 05/07/2023 13:12

@Topictwenty agree on the lack on friendships being really obvious- tbf I understand Sally and Gail not being as friendly, sally secretly dated her ex and then Gail didn’t support sally getting back with Kevin. Also, no build up of friendships when they are there, Toyah being best friends with Maria and Fizz came from nowhere!

I don’t remember Shelley being this annoying, I’m rooting for Lucy despite future knowledge!

Yea you’re right about Gail and sally.
Im still loving classic Corrie in 2003 but nowhere near as much as previous. They’re still doing some really good storylines but it feels like they’re very “standalone” without the relationships behind them to make them excellent. Whilst 2003 Corrie is streaks ahead of current Corrie for a million different reasons, I can feel it getting less good as time goes on.

I dont remember Peter and the love triangle being at the same time as Richard Hillman. This must be early days of too many massive storylines.

I thought exactly the same thing!!

Whenwillthewashingend · 05/07/2023 15:40

Wow, wow, wow. I knew about the storyline, and seen many clips over the years, but didn't watch it the first time around.
I can see why it's gone down in Corrie history.
My heart is racing.

Zippedydoo123 · 05/07/2023 16:26

I love the way Richard Hillman stated he had been sleeping rough in his car when in fact he rolled up at Gail's home clean shaven and dressed in a suit. It was still gripping nonetheless!

FlibbertyGibbitt · 05/07/2023 16:55

OOH YERR !!!! I can remember the car scene but have gone all emotional over it ! Fabulous acting

He had a 5 o’clock shadow when he was holding David. I think he tied David up and went for a bath - I would 😀

HurdyGurdy19 · 05/07/2023 20:01

I assume this is also the start of the Katie Harris diabetes storyline.

The Hillman storyline was brilliant. But I thought he'd killed more than two people (excluding Duggie)

Cheers for that , I'd forgotten 🙄
Can we just not do that

HazelBite · 06/07/2023 06:32

Does anyone remember whether or not they recovered RH's body? Would make a fabulous storyline if he turned up at David's salon 20 odd years later!!
I'd forgotten that he tried to kill them initially in the garage with the exhaust fumes.

Zippedydoo123 · 06/07/2023 08:01

I really do not take to the Harris family.

I'm sure I remember Gail identifying him in a body bag on the side if the canal, but I also forgot about trying to kill them with exhaust fumes so not sure how reliable my memory is.

The unluckiest family to ever walk the street and that's saying something

Not do what? Talk about storyline in a programme that aired 20 years ago 🤣
