Place your bets for how many years out of date the storylines in the title will be by the end of the thread… 😁

What happened to Cilla’s fancy car? And where did she get it from in the first place?

I think she hired it to entice Les into thinking she had inherited £££,s although god knows why,it wasn't really explained ?

Poor Karen. She’s made her decision, leave her alone.

JenniferBooth · 09/04/2024 15:48

I dont remember this Jack/Ada storyline at all.

CherryogDog · 09/04/2024 16:37

Fizz's other brother? Don't remember her having two brothers.

JenniferBooth · 09/04/2024 16:41

Really pissed me off the way he was having a go at her. She didnt choose to have Chesney.

eggandonion · 09/04/2024 17:38

Hopefully the other brother will turn up in 20years!

CorporaINobbyNobbs · 09/04/2024 18:20

Poor Karen! I don’t remember any of this storyline either.

CherryogDog · 09/04/2024 20:02

I googled, he's called Billy Brown, but I still can't remember him.

Theyarehere · 13/04/2024 11:36

Don’t remember another brother either? Fizz didn’t deserve any nonsense about her vile mother leaving Chesney alone, Les was in love with Janice a week ago and he knows how disgusting Cilla is but he’s done nothing. Poor little Ches. The scenes with Martin and Katie are really really creepy now, he’s like her dad telling her off about school work, it’s sick.

And the ridiculous pigtails and uniform didn't help
I'm sure age wasent wearing a school uniform in her first year of" sixth form"
So not sure why she's wearing one now
I think Karen's scenes have been incredible ,you can tell what a good actress she is.

I love this Karen storyline! Don’t remember it at all. I really feel for her. Janice is being vile trying to tempt her with fags. What’s wrong with people like that?!

People always try to ruin good intentions. Its like when you do dry January and they wave wine under your nose.

I'm loving all the Karen scenes. Her acting of being highly anxious is amazing and totally believable just from her facial expressions. Even Steve used to be a much better actor than he is now.

Tracy was much better too. She’s so wooden now, and it’s like she’s performing in a pantomime.

Even baby Amy was very natural and cute smiling at Steve 🤣

The characters back then were much more natural and understated I think. And more normal, or at least typical, which made them believable (despite some of the out-there storylines!). I loved scenes like Norris, Blanche and Emily sitting casually playing poker. Whereas in modern corrie I don't find any of the characters believable, apart from Ken maybe. Everyone is like a caricature. Each scene only serves as a prop for some stupid drama, rather than people just casually chatting like normal people would. I mean, nobody seems to have any friends anymore. Together with the ridiculous gangster storylines and the like, it's all just unbelievable.

Having read back through that, I wonder if it's actually a more accurate representation of the times Confused

I’m catching up and watching the episodes where Jack becomes Ida Flagg. Where on earth did they get that dress from! It’s like something a pantomime dame would wear it was so ridiculous.
