Place your bets for how many years out of date the storylines in the title will be by the end of the thread… 😁

We’re up to 2003 at the moment.

Does anyone know why Craig is lying about being in the school play?

CorporaINobbyNobbs · 22/07/2023 13:18

As in why was he pretending to be in it in the first place?

WomanStanleyWoman2 · 22/07/2023 13:34

I’ve long since forgotten - but I am enjoying the irony of knowing Richard Fleeshman has gone on to be big in musical theatre. Ditto watching Katie roll her eyes at Tyrone’s attentions knowing that they went on to get married in real life 😄

Yeah same Woman. Anyway he’s just explained it - it was just a way to go out of the house without the parents worrying about him and where’s he going.

FeltCarrot · 23/07/2023 17:46

How continental of Blanche to invite Tracey for her tea at 8.30 on a Saturday night! 😂

TennisWithDeborah · 23/07/2023 17:47

I was thinking that! 8.30!

jazzybelle · 23/07/2023 19:10

I wish that Nelson family would disappear. Angela and Craig are reasonable but Tommy is a thuggish type and Katy is too full of herself.

TennisWithDeborah · 23/07/2023 21:08

I did like it when Tyrone pointed out to Tommy that he was not the boss. But he then ruined it by slinking off.

I understand completely why the Harrises are overly anxious about their children’s welfare. Someone set their house alight. But Tommy’s boorish behaviour towards Tyrone isn’t acceptable.

I liked that too. Tommy tries to rule Tyrone and others with his aggression. I don't like him at all. I don't really like the family much or their storyline. Although Angela has fitted in quite well with the factory girls.

Tourist29 · 25/07/2023 08:36

The Nelson family don’t add anything- forgot about he Windass family who were even worse. Feeling like the best days are over sadly

ODFODeary · 25/07/2023 10:15

Me too @Tourist29

jazzybelle · 25/07/2023 22:10

I have to agree now that Hilman story has finished. What is coming up that had such a great impact or that was so good?

Topictwenty · 26/07/2023 15:53

Not sure there’s anything. Can’t help feeling the best years are done now. Daft things like Tracey and Roy, Martin and Katy. Feels very much like the decent storylines have gone and we’re getting into the “eastenders” type ’storylines if you know what I mean. I might go back and watch all through the 80’s!!

TennisWithDeborah · 26/07/2023 18:08

Yes, CS is starting to go downhill. But there are a few bright things on the horizon. I thought that Sally Lindsay and Bill Ward were immense in their storyline which I think is imminent. I won’t say more because I know that some are watching it for the first time.

I’m also looking forward to Tracy’s pregnancy. She was horrific to the Croppers over Patience/Amy. Very good acting from all concerned. Some quality comedy from Blanche, too iirc.

I thought that Helen Flanagan was fab in her goth phase. I think she’s underrated as an actor because her glamour stuff etc took over in later years and that’s how people think of her. I thought she was compelling in the Stape storyline also.

CherryogDog · 26/07/2023 20:56

I really laughed at Roy's deadpan "have you thought of getting a dog" to Bev 😁

thenightsky · 26/07/2023 21:12

Loved the drunk women in the pub, singing on the tables.

TennisWithDeborah · 31/07/2023 17:25

Vera’s hair disaster is kind of a repeat of the same storyline with Hilda back in the mid-1980s. Hers was red I think. 😁She was going to Dr Lowther’s ruby wedding party with Percy.

FeltCarrot · 01/08/2023 11:17

What an amazing bit of writing Hayley’s speech to Bev was, and immaculately delivered.

eggandonion · 01/08/2023 11:28

I have a couple of friends with purple hair. Vera was before her time.

TennisWithDeborah · 01/08/2023 15:19

No episodes today ?

Fergie51 · 01/08/2023 15:28

FeltCarrot I do agree with you about Hailey giving Bev a dressing down in the Rovers. It was delivered with such dignity.
Fed up with with Angela, the aggressive husband and her fleece!
