Place your bets for how many years out of date the storylines in the title will be by the end of the thread… 😁

Ok random guess here as I'm not an expert like many of you ! But maybe...3?

My guess is not very long at all! We’ve got some juicy storylines coming up we have to discuss 😁

Skinnermarink · 13/06/2023 09:41

Just marking my place!

I miss poor old Maxine already.

HazelBite · 13/06/2023 13:15

I am constantly amazed at how much of the storylines I don't recall. Maria getting an abortion??The existence of Aiden Critchley?? Sunita and Kieran???

LockIn · 13/06/2023 13:32

Yes, I'm finding it really interesting seeing what I do and don't remember. I vividly remember Ken hitting Aidan Critchley but have no recollection of Richard framing him for Maxine's murder.

I'll place a bet on this thread covering 2 years of Classic Corrie Smile

LilyAndTheKing · 13/06/2023 13:40

Thanks for the new thread, I'll go for fifteen months.
And I completely forgot about Aiden being framed.
I can't wait til the penny drops about Richard and I can't remember when it happens.
Poor Gail, she doesn't have much luck

LilyAndTheKing · 13/06/2023 13:40

Ashley acting is very wooden.

His crying skills are very limited unfortunately. I think he started squeaking like a squeaky toy at the end of the last episode.

Tbh, other than Emily, no one seems particularly sad about Maxine being brutally murdered. Not even Audrey who spent a lot of time with her. It’s like Maxine didn’t actually mean that much to people.

Skinnermarink · 13/06/2023 14:25

Well that obviously hasn’t changed as they don’t give a shiny shit when someone dies these days either 😂

If a young mum had been horrifically battered to death a few doors down from you you’d be going around so shocked, not muttering ‘terrible business’ when you went to buy your morning paper!

Zippedydoo123 · 13/06/2023 15:10

I think Emily Bishop was very well acted in her attack. Quite impressive.

I can't remember either, but I'm guessing about thirty seconds before the car hits the water? (Sorry if that's a spoiler - does it count on the Classic thread?) No idea how much longer we have to wait for the dénuement, though.
I also don't understand why Audrey and Archie are being so dumb - they've been expecting an attack on Emily's life, and then when it happens they don't immediately assume RH must have been involved in some way - they know he's smart enough to frame someone else. Thank goodness for Ken and Norris! 😁

orangegato · 13/06/2023 15:24

Omg how have I never seen this thread?!

It’s really grinding my gears how no one believes Ken, no one is interested in the truth just blaming the kid. Don’t get me started on Maria, what a bitch! Not watched todays so not sure if she spills, every time she opens her gob I’m like is it now???

orangegato · 13/06/2023 15:25

Also is Lucy preggers with Simon Barlow? It looked like she was itching to tell Peter.

Totally agree! I keep thinking it’s like no one cares. But I guess people are acting more “normally” to emphasise how Richard isn’t coping v well.

Yes indeed! It looks pretty obvious that Emily was the target as she was babysitting, and Maxine disturbed them. There were enough people suspecting Richard before this happened that they should really be putting 2 and 2 together now better than they are doing

I have to say … I shed a few tears today, I know it’s not real life but 🤷‍♀️

Tourist29 · 13/06/2023 16:49

Gail ripping into Ken after banishing Audrey. It’s a huge piece of humble pie she’s going to eat before too long

I don’t know how she shows her face in years to come 😂it’s not the only time she gets it very wrong!

I know how you feel. I felt like blubbing when the hearse flowers were spelt 'Mummy'. Then I reminded myself it is just a flippin' soap!

ODFODeary · 13/06/2023 18:22

15 months is my guess

TennisWithDeborah · 13/06/2023 22:08

I stopped watching modern CS. It became mediocre about 5-10 years ago. It is not terrible, and there are strong actors in it, but it has lost what made it special.

SwankyPants · 14/06/2023 20:42

Isn't Fred lovely

WomanStanleyWoman2 · 16/06/2023 19:33

He really is. John Savident was underrated in Corrie - he never overdid it, so when he got very emotional or angry, it felt more real.

He’s one of my favourite male characters ever. The other is Alec Gilroy. Also enjoy watching Mike Baldwin and Roy Cropper.

Topictwenty · 16/06/2023 20:18

Yes I’ve loved watching Fred on classic Corrie. Didn’t appreciate him first time round. Same with Bet. I loved her character especially with racquel, I still miss her
