Place your bets for how many years out of date the storylines in the title will be by the end of the thread… 😁

And how can the salon flat have three bedroom ,s when Denise lived there it ws tiny
And I remember fiona, telling maxine it was too small for both of them to move in yet suddenly it has three bedrooms 🤔

Sunita's flat is DeeDee's flat? It looks nothing like it, the layout is very different. Who lives in Curly's/Blanche's house now? Is it Dev?

And who lives in Dev's old flat?

Edited

Dev and Mike live at Wetherfield Quays don't they?
Are those apartments still shown on current corrie?
And where does Ciaran, live ?

JewelleryCat · 28/03/2024 18:55

I think where Ciaran lives is where Daniel and Bethany live in current Corrie
@CyanCrystalViolet you’re right, that’s where Dev lives now with his kids (what used to be Curly’s/Blanche’s)
I cannot remember seeing Wetherfield Quays on current Corrie at all

CyanCrystalViolet · 28/03/2024 20:05

Oh really? Ciaran’s flat doesn’t look anything like Daniel’s flat 😂

Oh Eileen! Harry’s a lovely chap.

JewelleryCat · 28/03/2024 20:34

I could be wrong but that flat is next to the builders yard I think and Daniel and Bethany live there now. In Classic, it used to be Peter and Shelley and now Ciaran

Frankie and Danny Baldwin - especially Frankie, are very sneery about Northerners.

Housewife2010 · 30/03/2024 07:42

I can't bear Frankie's dreadful voice. The rest of the street can be in heavy winter coats and she's still pottering around in her flimsy tops.
I think Maya is a fabulous femme fatale. She's like a cross between Lady Macbeth, Cleopatra and Catwoman.

Harry was a great character. And that conversation between him and Eileen was lovely.

i just googled the actor to see why he left and found he died at 57 due to complications from diabetes. Sad 😞

Oh that’s sad about the actor.

I don’t blame Eileen for not joining him, she acted honourably, knowing that her feelings were platonic.

Sasha Behar was amazing as Maya.

Wendi Peters is talented too. Was absolutely lovely irl apparently, popular on set.

I loved the scenes where everyone was pottering around looking for donations for Emily’s charity. Really simple, realistic and well-written. I particularly liked the Grimshaws’ scenes, they’re such a tight-knit family. And the awkward scene between Frankie and Harry when she disparaged his late daughter’s top was brilliantly executed.

CorporaINobbyNobbs · 30/03/2024 13:02

I was just thinking of how funny it is. I’ve laughed several times at the jokes - like Fiz saying ‘it’s Charlie’s Angels not Mission Impossible’.

I agree Eileen was right to turn Harry down but I felt like there was a regret there that he hadn’t said something sooner and they could have had a relationship on the Street? Or at least gone for a few dates. Rather than springing it on her just before he left.

Theyarehere · 31/03/2024 12:00

I agree with you all. The writing is really funny, the storylines are well thought and based in reality but not overdrawn or unbelievable. They had the characterisations and interactions down with such detail, the coming out scenes and loss of Sarah’s baby were supported by all the other characters believable reactions. I can’t bear Cilla (how has les fallen for a fast car and her pigging on posh chocolates?)but Wendi Peters was wonderful. It was such a waste of Harry’s character and the southern contingent were awful to him, that eldest and Danny always seem to have a gob full of food whilst they say some awful “cockneyism” like “shooters”.

I'm kind of with Maya on this (for the moment anyway). Dev has sold her a lie and treated her appallingly. He was the one who pushed her to move in with him very quickly when she was in the vulnerable position of having lost her job, offering her work at the shop so she became reliant on him. Then he reassures her over and over that he and Sunita are finished, when they obviously aren't, and then callously declares his love for Sunita in front of them BOTH. I mean, how awful and humiliating that would be alone. I don't really blame her for smashing his things. I don't know how he affords to get involved with anyone... first he had to replace his designer clothes after Tracy cut them up, and now all his fancy furniture is broken.

I'm surprised Sunita went from being disgusted by it to declaring her love for him so quickly. Only a few days ago he was telling Maya how much he loved her, her side of the bed isn't even cold. I would have the major ick.

eggandonion · 02/04/2024 14:16

Maya is very very good at major ick.

x2boys · 02/04/2024 19:47

Sarah is annoying me at the moment ,I realise she's had a terrible time
But she behaving like a spoilt brat just assuming she could waltz into a job at Audrey's salon and thinking she should get preferential treatment because she's Audrey's granddaughter over Candice .

thenightsky · 02/04/2024 20:45

My box has recorded 2 classic corries this afternoon, but the 2nd one says there's another in half an hour. So was there 3 episodes today?

CherryogDog · 02/04/2024 20:52

@thenightsky it's from when there was a 2nd episode half an hour later when it was on in the evenings.

Oh thank you.

TennisWithDeborah · 03/04/2024 23:22

I like Tina O’Brien but I think she plays Sarah a bit young sometimes. Her delivery is more like that of a younger adolescent. I think that as a mother who’s left school and lived independently she’d be on the more mature side, if anything.

JewelleryCat · 04/04/2024 14:58

I’m not keen on Frankie

HurdyGurdy19 · 04/04/2024 19:42

I didn't really notice when they were on screen originally, but Danny, Frankie, Jamie and Warren are really ramping up the Cockney accent. It sounds so forced.

CyanCrystalViolet · 04/04/2024 19:45

I don't mind Danny and Frankie so much but I wish J&W would fack off back to Landaaahn.

It occurred to me that I have absolutely no recollection of Ciaran the first time round. He's so sweet. Apart from when he was cheating on Sunita with Bev of course.

LilyAndTheKing · 05/04/2024 06:56

@CyanCrystalViolet I think the writers have given Kieran a personality change with regard to Roy and Hayley. He's been quite nasty with them recently.

LilyAndTheKing · 05/04/2024 07:01

I liked Danny and Frankie in the original broadcast back in 2004, but they're really getting on my nerves in classic Corrie. And yes the cockney is definitely over amped.
Frankie actress is a wonderfully talented voice impersonator on Dead Ringers .

CyanCrystalViolet · 06/04/2024 19:43

What happened to Cilla’s fancy car? And where did she get it from in the first place?
