I would like about three weeks where no one goes home, so you could get to know the contestants a bit.

I preferred Claudia Winkelman as presenter in the early series. Joe Lycett just got silly and Sara Pascoe is doing the same.

Floralnomad · 26/05/2023 19:02

I’m glad Claudia Winkelman doesn’t do it anymore as I can’t watch anything she does .

I like Sarah, is it my imagination or did she just have a baby? I could google I suppose.

googled on my phone, she is pregnant, but too late for a baby garment week I think.

shame, they should plan these things better.

CaptainMyCaptain · 26/05/2023 20:11

She had one baby and is pregnant again. She was expanding rapidly over last year's series.

MouseMinge · 26/05/2023 22:38

I loved it when Claudia was presenting but after about a series I get used to it and like the next presenter. I saw Sarah Pascoe perform live a couple of months ago and she was really good. I've seen her a few times and it's been great watching her hone her skills.

Rowanandremy · 26/05/2023 22:42

I preferred Claudia as presenter but I don’t think Sara is bad - I just take a bit to warm up to new presenters.

Did anyone see Esme on House of Games? I found her quite irritating because she seemed to think anything to do with popular culture was beneath her, and she had to be jollied along into making a bit of an effort occasionally.

Yes, she decided she wanted to score zero throughout the week so didn’t even try, basically. Some of the slebs on HoG take some odd positions on how they present themselves, don’t they, having clearly got as far as going through the whole process with their agents etc and agreeing to take part (and graciously accepting the fee!).

But at least she was reasonably good-humoured about it, unlike eg Patsy Kensit, who spent the whole week looking utterly incredulous, if not downright furious, at being asked these incomprehensible questions, and appeared to have been beamed down to earth from outer space 😂

lollipoprainbow · 27/05/2023 14:33

Joe Lycett was great as the presenter. Ellie Taylor would be good too.

TokyoSushi · 27/05/2023 21:53

Caught up now so checking in, Asmaa is my early favourite!

The Blue linen one had a very risky bust!

Just catching up - amazed neither Esme or Patrick mentioned the low neck line on this one!! You'd not want to lean over...

Love sewing bee - very happy it's back.

elephantmarchingin · 28/05/2023 19:06

Cannot stand Gillie at all!!

elephantmarchingin · 28/05/2023 19:11

I do however really really like Matthew. It's just a punk style.

Not sure what all the uproar about him being a TA is. He's not wearing this to the office!!!

northernstars · 28/05/2023 20:19

Just caught up. As odd as it sounds Gillies's mouth and breathiness reminded me of Nikki Graham from Big Brother.

LadyEloise1 · 29/05/2023 09:44

I thought Asmaa was amazing.
A surgeon and a wonderful sewer. I'm still searching for my talent Smile
Her blouse should have been "Garment of the Week" it was so well executed. The positioning of the flowers at the front was superb.

LadyEloise1 · 29/05/2023 10:32

I'll be watching out for a woman in a fabulous red dress with feather print when I'm out and about in Dublin @BlackAmericanoNoSugar 😉

I can sew on a button and hand sew a hem and am in awe of anyone who can sew and knit and play an instrument and........

😁 If you see me just yell ‘black Americano, no sugar’. If it’s me I’ll say ‘yes, please’.

LadyEloise1 · 31/05/2023 08:01

Will do 👍😉

rugbychick1 · 31/05/2023 19:50

I never usually watch Sewing Bee, but I used to work with Asmaa so thought I'd tune in. She is such a lovely person, and fantastic to work with

Wolfcub · 31/05/2023 20:59

Evening all

Binglebong · 31/05/2023 21:00

Really glad to hear hear Rugby - when people are that sickeningly good you worry they are secretly evil!

Wolfcub · 31/05/2023 21:01

Ooo Patrick in a pilots cap. Helllooooo matron

Piggywaspushed · 31/05/2023 21:01

SoupDragon · 31/05/2023 21:03

Frenchfancy · 31/05/2023 21:03

Been saying for ages that they ought to do bags.

Unescorted · 31/05/2023 21:04
