I'm trying to tune in, but for some reason my satellite box has decided to turn to BBC Alba, so instead of sewing bee I have some documentary about Russian spies, in Welsh. I don't speak Welsh. I want Patrick not Russian spies!

Aren't twist tops:

a) unflattering?
b) dated?

Yeah, but they're slightly tricky to sew I guess so good for a challenge.

I adore watching Sewing Bee, but I can't sew for toffee and I'm scared of a sewing machine.

The judging always seems so harsh in the early weeks. They're new little babies in the sewing room!

I managed to retune in time for judging. I don't think they are being harsh at all. If the sleeve is upside down or the seam isn't sewn correctly then it should be criticised.

Not very many men this year. Asmaa looks like a front runner already.

I wonder if Asmaa will be this years 'races ahead at the beginning but gets overtaken by the journey of others' contestant?

But blinking heck, satin French seams and a twist top done with barely a fault task 1 week 1..... she's definitely got skills!
