Ooh, I like Lizzie's top. It looks good.

littlbrowndog · 14/06/2023 21:31

So from a bag you can only make a womens top. Poor challenge

BestIsWest · 14/06/2023 21:31

I thought Lizzie had that one.

HeadNorth · 14/06/2023 21:32

Asmaa is on storming form, but I personally preferred Lizzie’s top

Nameinspirationneeded · 14/06/2023 21:32

love the B top in a silly recycle challenge

NutellaEllaElla · 14/06/2023 21:34

Is anyone going to give Asmaa a run for her money??

MouseMinge · 14/06/2023 21:34

I'm guessing that Asmaa's sleeves gave her the edge but I preferred Lizzie's top.

I need to be careful about looking at this thread as I'm a couple of minutes behind due to watching live on iPlayer which is slightly less live than on actual live television.

Nameinspirationneeded · 14/06/2023 21:35

The blankets look really nice- feels a shame to turn them into things.

littlbrowndog · 14/06/2023 21:36

Love this learning bit

NutellaEllaElla · 14/06/2023 21:36

Yay fashion historian lady is awesome

Wolfcub · 14/06/2023 21:36

Tom Daley knits. Pointy sticks not hooks

CaptainMyCaptain · 14/06/2023 21:36

Cutting up crochet blankets seems an odd thing to do. If you want a crocheted garment you would just crochet it.

BlackAmericanoNoSugar · 14/06/2023 21:36

I don't think that I can watch all those blankets being cut up. If anyone that I crocheted a blanket for cuts theirs up will haunt them for the rest of their lives.

Yes agree

MouseMinge · 14/06/2023 21:37

I've tried crotcheting but I just can't do it. I can knit well but I become a total cack-handed idiot.

littlbrowndog · 14/06/2023 21:38

My toddlers have patchwork quilts their grandma made for them. They are stories for them

Halsall · 14/06/2023 21:38

Some of these blankets are very superior ones. I’ve never been lucky enough to 'source' any as good as those in a charity shop 🤔

Tom Daley crochets too but the Harry Styles cardigan is knitted

woopdedoodle · 14/06/2023 21:39

Oh, I've made that Twiggy suit for my daughter.

And yes, most charity blankets are only fit for dogs!

woopdedoodle · 14/06/2023 21:40

I sound really harsh there.

StrongandNorthern · 14/06/2023 21:41

Does anyone know what design the fabric Fauve is actually wearing is?
I love it!

Nameinspirationneeded · 14/06/2023 21:44

I can’t crochet knit or sew at all. Do these really need to be hand sewn as machines aren’t working. As I type those who can crochet are doing it - looks unfair.

MorrisZapp · 14/06/2023 21:44

Yip the B top should have won

pastabest · 14/06/2023 21:44

I'm really cross at this episode.

absolutely fine with the no waste pattern stuff, lots of patterns are very wasteful with fabric unnecessarily.

but cutting up perfectly good bags to make a garment that will never be worn by anyone but mannequin. Stupid

cutting up perfectly good, handmade, crochet blankets. Heinous

did the contestants have to go and haunt charity shops and eBay for the blankets themselves or do the production team do it?

BlackAmericanoNoSugar · 14/06/2023 21:45

I was just thinking that if I were doing it I would crochet most of the seams for a better finish, and then half of them started doing that.
