@covetingthepreciousthings Do you have links to any of the blogs? I'd love to read them.

catfunk · 07/03/2023 21:21

If anyone has links to their insta accounts too please link

A Philippa Perry lookalike already. That’ll be helpful when trying to remember names in those awkward early stages.

DD and just come up with our own nicknames for them and don't try to remember their actual names!

Cocolapew · 07/03/2023 21:21

Does anyone know who the bob and glasses lady is?

Quick google says her names Joanne

EdwardTeachBornOnABeach · 07/03/2023 21:36

I loved Toms bedrooms. I’m glad that flat won

BigMandysBookClub · 07/03/2023 21:43

I'm a bit disappointed we didn't have another Paul this year. He was massively entertaining.

Liked the living area with the big doughy sofa the best.

I liked quite a few of the rooms this year, which is a first for me.

The cactus headboard might come in handy if your husband is a bit of a gimp.

Mooserp · 07/03/2023 22:02

Joanne is hardcastletowers

GodisaBC · 07/03/2023 22:13

I loved Peter, but not that keen on his designs.
Perry lady was on the radio today, found her on instagram, she’s hardcastletowers.

LadyAddle · 07/03/2023 22:18

The bed tucked into the howdah alcove would be a nightmare to make - I'm getting a thing about this, Stacey Solomons' team did something similar on the decluttering show and it's just such an impractical arrangement. It looks great, but all that crawling over the bed and disarranging it as fast as you tuck it in - grrr.

CouldIHaveThatInEnglishPlease · 07/03/2023 22:24

I liked peters cactus headboard. I might steal that for my own house. But then my style is also white walls, natural wood and plants, plants and more plants so it was right up my street. Although his second room was terrible, especially that pipe. What was he thinking?

That big squishy sofa room though looked amazing

longtompot · 07/03/2023 22:38

I liked that they had more of the decorators and carpenters to help, at least for this episode.
I think the one that went was right, for me it was between him, Ibiza man and concrete table legs woman. I loved goth woman's wallpaper and her room was gorgeous. The first room they went to, which I think was the ones who got through first, was beautiful and both their rooms worked together and separately.
I am looking forward to future episodes.

Whatsnewpussyhat · 07/03/2023 22:46

I thought Ibiza boy would be gone.

None of their ideas are new.

MichaelAndEagle · 07/03/2023 23:08

You can follow Wayne the carpenter on insta, you probably all already know @ thetvcarpenter I think he is.

catfunk · 07/03/2023 23:08

Joanne hardcastle seems like a great woman

Joanne is hardcastletowers

I've followed her for ages on instagram. Like her style on there but was a bit underwhelmed tonight x

PriamFarrl · 07/03/2023 23:13

The problem with the early rounds is that there are two many people. I’m not surprised at who they sent home. I predict that Joanne will win.

NeverApologiseNeverExplain · 08/03/2023 00:52

"Bouclé is the fabric du jour"

Loving this. I've missed Michelle.

Cactus is the obvious choice for a headboard. and who doesn't want their kid swinging from the ceiling at bed time?

The two contestants with red hair look identical from behind.

PMSL at the Terrazzo fail.

ageingdisgracefully · 08/03/2023 08:00

Just catching up

Stunning view from that flat.

The other series with Tom Dyckhoff etc was much better.

Love the contestants' homes. That chapel 😮

TempName247 · 08/03/2023 11:35

Could definitely tell it would be one of the men going out of the four who ended up on the couch.
I know Joanne and hope she amps it up for the next one, obviously it’s all already been filmed but the contestants have to keep it all under wraps so I’m excited to see how far she goes!

NutellaEllaElla · 08/03/2023 11:42

Ooh I didn't realise so thanks for the reminder. I'll have to catch up, I hope they give contestants the time to actually be creative and give some kind of decent standards.

LadyEloise1 · 08/03/2023 12:09

I think it's unfair to pair them.
We need to compare them.
Test their mettle.
I suppose it's difficult to get 10 flats in a building to do up.

Beebumble2 · 08/03/2023 12:10

I preferred the original series with Sophie Robinson and Daniel Hopwood. I was lucky to do a day workshop with them a couple of years ago. Although I do like Michelle Ogundehin as a presenter.
When there’s 10 contestants it all a bit of a busy rush with little focus on detail.

Madcats · 08/03/2023 13:57

I tut tut all the way through, usually, but it is the sort of TV I could do with right now. Not up there with Pottery Throwdown, but worth a watch.

Thanks for the heads up (good job I look through active threads over lunch)!

longtompot · 08/03/2023 15:45

I also preferred the original series @Beebumble2 Three contestants and the winner of that week went through to the semi final. There were 16 episodes in the first series too!
This new one seemed to be so hyped up, the contestants that is, more so than previous series of this iteration. I wonder if that's to do with it being on bbc 1?
