BAFTAs - anyone watching?

I'm looking forwards to Alison Hammond she's a hoot. Richard E Grant seems incredibly nervous in his opening speech.

@IcedPurple in fairness when his costars have won everything else it must be a bit of a bitter pill to swallow.

I thought banshees was well acted but to be honest the only thing I can really say is “it wasn’t bad enough to switch off” whereas Elvis I thought was the most entertaining film I’ve seen in a long long time. I genuinely forgot I was watching someone pretend to be Elvis, Austin really lost himself in role so I’m glad he’s winning the big awards

I don't think he's going to win at the Oscars either. I think Austin Butler is a shoo in. This is Farrell's big chance to win major awards, so no surprise he's disappointed.

I read mixed reviews about Elvis and Tom Hanks in particular, but it really was very moving and well acted.

@IcedPurple i think Colin’s day will come. He has such a remarkable body of work - I’d say he’s a hugely underrated actor. He will get an Oscar eventually.

austin I think was perfect for the role and deserves the Oscar this year but I’m not convinced he’s going to have the same career that Colin has had. He needs another one or two standout performancs. But admittedly, besides Elvis I’ve only seen him in Sharpay’s Fabulous Adventure!

I think the weird format, switching from edited awards, to inane backstage interviews, to live awards, isn't helping.
