BAFTAs - anyone watching?

I'm looking forwards to Alison Hammond she's a hoot. Richard E Grant seems incredibly nervous in his opening speech.

But she's an occasional daytime telly presenter. This was completely the wrong genre for her. Someone who was much higher profile would have been more appropriate.

I agree. It brings me back to what I said above about how the BAFTAs don't seem to know what they want to be anymore. They're trying to combine a more laid back style, with those awful backstage interviews, with elements of a formal awards show, and it just doesn't work.

I get that awards shows are losing viewers and they want to mix it up a bit, but I don't think this was the way to do it.

Many actors are very nervous at these type of award ceremonies. It's only a guess, but maybe because they often play other people and can do this reasonably well, they often can't play themselves very well. I've never done any acting or know any of them , so it's only my own musings of watching these shows.
Plus it must be a bit strange if you don't expect to win and then you do too , a bit of a shock !

The costume designer lady was great.
I'm surprised they don't have such people on the panel , she is the first to be given this award and now part of the BAFTA club
They should have more of the tech people on it , animators , music directors etc. They are as important as anyone else.

Saw clips Mathew Modine this morning so I’m happy I won’t sit through these ceremonies though/

Sandy Powell is her name.
What fabulous work she has done.

Her hair was amazing.
