Brilliant thread(s)!

Few random thoughts. I'm very much Team Catherine, and as someone mentioned, if she was a bloke we'd all be saying whadda great guy. Don't see why Darius should be putting himself out for TLR, surely there's no Marbella trip? In fact, I'm unclear what the benefit is/was to Darius of going to the risk/trouble of springing him out of court in the first place.

The writing is just so good. I liked the little scene with C and her boss (Mike?) talking about idiot alien cop. And she is taking it light-heartedly and humorously, but then he is crass enough to compare to sexual harassment, and the mood switches.. So many of these little 'real life' moments.

I liked that too. She wasn't taking that crap at all.

Janieread · 30/01/2023 12:12

I have a feeling that the last scene will be Catherine back in the graveyard putting flowers on Claire's grave. It's why she finally lost it with her.

Good theory

Re the benefit to Darius, I assumed that if it IS real Tommy would be working for him in Marbella. He’s surely a useful hired killer/thug. But also possible Tommy is being set up and will be offed.

Marking my place.

I’m starting to think Darius or someone (beetroot man?) will kill TLR. He’s too much of a liability. And what has Darius got to gain from sending him to Spain? Nothing that I can see. Will Ryan get caught up in it and accidentally be killed maybe?

UrsulaPandress · 30/01/2023 12:16

He was making Borscht.

He’s borscht man to me.

PrincessScarlett · 30/01/2023 12:19

We've not seen any violence from TLR in 5 episodes when we all know he is capable of extreme violence. I think in the finale he will snap, go on a rampage and kill Beetroot Man, possibly Darius or one of Darius's associates (we didn't see much of Tweedledee and Tweedledum last night) and someone from Catherine's circle.

I don't believe TLR truly loves Ryan. It is a form of what he think is love but if Ryan crosses him he would quite happily kill him. That is not love.

Well he did punch his way out of court...

StrychnineInTheSandwiches · 30/01/2023 12:23

The tweedledum and tweedeldee numpties are sure to meet a sticky end when they try and make off with the loot.

PrincessScarlett · 30/01/2023 12:25

@storminabuttercup true but in the TLR scale of violence a punch is almost nothing.

excelledyourself · 30/01/2023 12:30

I also thought the part about never having been abroad was quite sad, in a way. Probably because I think he'll now never get to go. I hate to feel sorry for TLR, but I suppose that shows how well written the character. Just another example of a life that should have been so different.

But as someone pointed out when I said that about Ryan, there would be no show if that were the case!

CaptainMyCaptain · 30/01/2023 12:32

TheCountessofFitzdotterel · 30/01/2023 11:37

My absolute favourite moment was TLR saying he had never been abroad.
It said so much about the lack of opportunity that has produced him and it feeds into his motivation as he is obviously secretly scared about going to Spain and that makes him more likely to risk that future in favour of his revenge on Catherine.

I thought he looked quite vulnerable at that moment. I agree it said a lot about his background.

CaptainMyCaptain · 30/01/2023 12:35

TheCountessofFitzdotterel · 30/01/2023 12:01

I missed the entire thread, was still catching up on the one before 😂

You’re right, it’s not just his lack of experience of ‘abroad’ but actually his horizon is even more local than that. He probably went to London once on a school trip and otherwise apart from prison has barely left the area.

He reminded me of the hard nut school kids who are completely unable to cope once you take them on a school trip 'off their patch'.

CuriousMama · 30/01/2023 12:36

Yes I felt sad about the not going abroad. But more for all those I know who haven't been far and never will. He reminded me of someone too. Died young.

StrychnineInTheSandwiches · 30/01/2023 12:37

I think the most disturbingly violent scene in all the three series was when CID guy John (Molesley) strangled Vicky in her flat. TLR's violence has mostly been referred to rather than witnessed by the viewer. Alison making sure her son would never kill again (or be forced to go to prison) was also pretty heavy.

wildthingsinthenight · 30/01/2023 12:37

Blondeshavemorefun · 30/01/2023 11:55

Oh god. I have it all mixed up as been re watching s1&2

Could have sworn mums death was in s3

Ok

So Tommy has been in prison for 6yrs planning revenge over his mums death

As well as pissed off over the boat and Catherine kicking him

I will keep off the morphine while posting 😂

🤣🤣
Thanks for the new thread

Oh @Blondeshavemorefun my head is wired !! I couldn't sleep last night kept waking up thinking about different scenarios!! It's gotten right into my head lol

wildthingsinthenight · 30/01/2023 12:38

Does anyone else think that Darius has no intention of helping TLR and Ryan to get abroad??

So tense

CaptainMyCaptain · 30/01/2023 12:39

Pfizer would have removed the code or decanted the pills.
I'm assuming you mean Faisal, the pharmacist. I actually thought for a bit whether the Pfizer, the pharaceutical company, would go to that trouble.

I don't think Faisal did that, though, because he was genuinely worried the police would find out he had supplied them.

The murder of Kirsten was sickening to watch, even though we didn't see her.

But I found it particularly disturbing that John was able to sexually assault Vicky purely to replicate the other murders.

Oh God, how could I have forgotten Kirsten's murder. Yes, that was horrifying.
