In all seriousness I like how they've handled the depression story, someone unexpected, with faith, friends, a loving partner etc etc. Tonight was a horrible reminder that neither cancer or depression discriminate.

I saw him in a play a few years ago and he was terrific, totally unexpected, as when I'd ever seen him on eastenders he seemed a total block of wood.

My my dm is feeling the same tonight. She trained to be an optician less than 5 years after this is filmed. And she said that the treatment for the man who went blind from macular degeneration is totally wrong!!

I was thinking that he also had a detached retina. Because of the sudden onset of blindness and he mentioned a black stripe.

Just wanted to comment re Downs Syndrome. A relative of mine was born in 40s with DS, so about the same age as Reggie. She lived at home with her Mother, father and siblings her whole life and by all accounts had a normalish life interacting with people and doing stuff.
As was common for those with DS she died as a relatively young adult but had a good life.

So the Reggie storyline is definitely ringing true with me. IIRC there were comments at first, but now people are.used to him. Even in the 40s/ 50s/ 60s people did just accept things after while even if sometimes made unacceptable comments at first.

I don't mine CTM being twee. I was VERY worried Lucile was going to end up under a bus earlier. I much prefer her going to the Dr and Jamaica and a happier 'ending'.

It was okay tonight, I thought breast cancer as soon as I saw that lady's boob, I've nursed a few women who were diagnosed when pregnant 😢 the prognosis isn't normally great.

I wondered why the actress playing Lucille only wanted to do half a series, that's going to leave them short on midwives again!

It was Sister Evangelina. I noticed it at the time as it reminded me of a nun at the convent school I attended in the 70s - who also rode a scooter! The girls at the school thought it was hilarious.
