I didn't like the new nun at all. Mind you I hated Nurse Crane when she first came, now she's my favourite.
I didn't like Sister Hilda so couldn't care less that she left.

I wanted to give Lucille a hug.

I'd love Patsy and... what's her name to come back. And Sister Mary Cynthia, and Chummy and PC Chummy. (Yes I know, he's called Sargent Noakes)

I loved seeing the Mullocks family back too. Seeing what happened to some of the families from earlier series would be interesting. Like the young lass who had diabetes. Or the young couple who got engaged when she found out she was pregnant, then she lost the baby, called of the engagement and he went to uni. I wonder if they stayed together or grew apart.

Thr one im always curious about... the Spanish women series 1, having her 20th or so child. Did she have more? Is she surrounded by grandchildren, or were the girls put off?

creamcoffee · 04/01/2023 07:13

the girl was knocked down and then we saw no more of her!

creamcoffee · 04/01/2023 07:18

i also loved the mullocks family and susan, the very same actor being used is very touching.

PuttingDownRoots · 04/01/2023 07:21

I notice Mai actually had a spoken line... do you think her and Angela are going to getting proper speaking roles now they are growing older?

PriamFarrl · 04/01/2023 07:29

I did think the racist woman commenting about her family being French was a bit too obvious.

God, I hope not. They make my family giggle as they are so unnatural and stiff.

The little girl who did the clapometer for the talent show in the Christmas special acted better than those two with just the raise of her eye brow.

I thought it was a dig at Nigel Farage who has the same ancestry.

That may be the downside of casting a role as a baby/toddler... you don't know if tey will be actors as they grow up!

I’d imagine that’s her parents in real life insisting she either speaks or gets “sent back to Hong Kong”!

I don't think the same actor has been used for Susan, I seem to remember reading there have been at least two or three children playing her.

creamcoffee · 04/01/2023 17:58

sorry,
i meant Susan's mother, always the same actor, WPC from Life on MArs - Liz White

Soubriquet · 07/01/2023 15:37

I’m finally watching it!! We’ve had our Wi-Fi cut off for a week due to non-payment.

I nearly cried when the “lodger” was being helped to the toilet by what we thought was a land lady, but instead was her girlfriend.

Anyway, that’s as far as I’ve gotten so far.

will read the rest of the thread and update more when it’s finished

Regarding billing, the actors who play Miss Higgins, Cyril, and Reggie have been on the main cast list since the Series 9 Christmas special.

Matthew has been on the main cast list ever since his first episode.

By main cast list, I mean their names appear in the opening credits.

I have a question regarding Christopher who was Trixie's love interest: Was he always intended
to be a short term character or did Helen George's pregnancy force them to eliminate him?

LIZS · 08/01/2023 18:04

Just watching the very first episode on Drama, much grittier.

woodhill · 08/01/2023 19:09

Is it on tonight?

LIZS · 08/01/2023 19:11

8pm

PriamFarrl · 08/01/2023 19:12

Yes. 8pm, followed by Happy Valley. What a night!

PinkFrogss · 08/01/2023 20:52

Is Sister Julienne starting to question her faith?

Also hope Lucille comes back soon, I want them to have a happy family Sad

Elderflower14 · 08/01/2023 20:57

Where will her suitcase go??

Exactly what I said. Just taking some rolled up knickers in her clutch bag by the looks of things.

MoscowMules · 08/01/2023 21:08

I enjoyed tonight's episode, more concentration on the "nursing" side.

Wonder what's in store for Nancy. Her expensive boutique purchases, and the "IMPORTANT " letter. Wonder if she's on financial trouble?

I do hope Lucille returns happy and back to her old self. Wonder though if in Jamaica she finds out she's expecting.
