Love Island Winter 2023 pre-series discussion

Looks like Love Island producers have announced that participants' social media will be locked whilst the programme airs. (Looking for reliable source, so far I can only find tabloid stories).
I hope it's true, I think it's needed.

That was a bit uncomfortable. Zara was singled out a lot there. I feel people think it’s ok because she doesn’t cry on a whim like Olivia and make herself seem like the victim all the time.

I don’t see that? The only negative thing was Aaron choosing her as most likely to talk behind his back, but given she’s chosen Olivia as two faced/untrustworthy TWICE she can’t really complain

It was uncomfortable to watch.
Zara is obviously on edge. Think she is better off out of the villa

Well that truth or dare game was telling. Zara is clearly not well liked in the villa which will only make her more defensive. I just can't get over the personality 180 she seems to have done since she first entered. She seemed so positive and bubbly and now she's negative, controlling and snappy. She needs to take a step back, take a deep breath and chill a bit.

Liking Shaq a lot at the moment. Very refreshing to see him and Will call Ron out for messing Lana about. Feel like Ron has seriously done himself no favours.

Don't see anything between Olivia and Spencer. I think Olivia or Ellie would be a better temperament for Tom who seems quite reserved and easy going

Shaq's response to Ron was great and meant the others all agreed with him. Zara looks so moody and seems such hard work.

Did I miss something? Yes Aaron said one thing that was negative, but how else was she singled out? By others kissing Tom? That's allowed and is nothing to do with Zara.

Zara also had no problem going after Olivia as untrustworthy again.

I agree @MotherofKitties. If all the sniping was water off a duck's back, she'd be much happier.

I'm guessing her personality change is due to no-one having her back in the villa, she's upset and isolated (probably due to her defence mechanism being guards up and snarling).

I think the producers are winding Zara up just to let her go for the "drama", ignoring the likely hate from the public that she'll get for it.

So much defence of Zara from certain posters purely because they think calling her out for poor behaviour is due to her race. She's clearly not well liked in the villa- those who see her 24 hours a day. It's not to do with her race, again it's what she says and does.

I note there's still been no answer to why it's acceptable to call sone women Fiat500s and basic.

I'm loving Shaque. I don't think he's particularly handsome- David was the far better looking boy after Tanya- but his morals seem solid and he's coming across as a really decent guy. Tanya is a joy anyway, but she seems joyous when with him, which is the best sign.

Ron needs to get a grip!

I just don’t understand the attraction to Tom. I mean I appreciate he’s traditionally ‘handsome’ but I don’t see his sex appeal. He looks like he’s wearing makeup tonight too…

Lana handled the Ron thing really well. She stood up for herself but was really calm and dignified too. Kudos to her!

Jessie looked really uncomfortable during the game - not sure if Will being voted least sexy or whatever it was got to her?

Ellie picking Kai as most boring 😆🙊

The hideaway looked a bit basic...and that lovely rack of nylon undercrack surfers for the laydee...how nice....still, I guess it did the trick...just don't know how you could be that intimate with someone with cameras there...something for the kids to remember you by I guess 😵

Not sure what to make of all the neg towards Zara from the other islanders - don't forget we only see a fraction of what goes on (and what production want us to see). The "I think we've already seen it" comment from Aaron was odd - what has he seen (apart from her 180 in personality)? I'm assuming those balloons were placed specifically for them rather than getting random questions? PMSL at Kai getting the boring slow dance!

Hope someone lovely comes in for Lana, she's too good for Ron.

@SpiceAndCoffee i agree about Jess and Will it’s a shame. There seemed more of a flicker with Aaron.
I’m not a Zara fan she’s too possessive and controlling.
I can’t see Olivia lasting in the Villa either, I like her but I think she just has such a guard up.
Lana and Tanya my favourites

I also think there's some double standards at play. If one of the boys was displaying Zara's behaviour there'd be uproar, as there has been previously with controlling and possessive men.

Jessie most definitely has the ick. The look on her face during the game was a sight to behold. Not sure that she can last another six weeks or so

Zara is that she is great tv because she doesn’t have much of a filter and is very emotional . However, I feel that things will just get worse for her in the villa.
Think Tom may call it quits

At the moment , I wouldn’t say I really like any of the housemates. I don’t mind Shaq, particularly when he spoke to Ron about his unfair treatment towards Lana.

I don't think we saw enough of Jessie to draw any conclusions. Disappointingly, she and Will were nigh-on invisible during that episode
